Two Years Later
"Wesley, come here, bud," Caiden said, holding his arms out for his son.
"Coming, Daddy," the three-and-a-half-year-old little boy answered from across the room.
Caiden picked him up and set him on his lap. Blake sat next to him holding a sheet of pictures.
"We have something to tell you, Wes," Blake said, a huge smile on her lips.
"What, Momma?"
They looked at each other before looking back down at their son. "We are having a baby, Wes," Caiden said as his hand squeezed Blake's thigh.
"A baby? Where?"
"The baby's not here yet. They'll be here in a couple of months," Blake replied.
"Where are they now?"
"The baby is in Momma's belly," Caiden said while placing a hand over her flat stomach.
"In your belly?" He asked, his eyes wide with disbelief.
"Yeah, in my belly. When the baby gets bigger, you'll be able to tell that they're in there."
"I can't see them now?"
"No not yet, but momma's belly will get bigger when the new baby grows, and you'll be able to feel them."
"Oh," he said, a frown on his face.
"What's wrong, Wesley?" Blake asked as she cupped his cheek, wanting to make sure he was okay with the news they'd just revealed to him.
"I wanted to see the new baby now."
Caiden and Blake both looked at each other with their hearts full of happiness.
"We want to see the baby, too. But they have to get bigger for a few months until me, you, and daddy can see them."
"Okay," Wesley responded with a nod of his head. "But I want to be first to see them."
Caiden laughed and kissed the top of his head. "You can be the first to hold them too, how does that sound?"
Wesley's eyes shot open with surprise. "Yes!" He exclaimed.
"Do you want to see what they look like now?"
Wesley eagerly nodded his head and crawled onto his mother's lap.
Blake showed him the sonogram pictures and pointed to where the baby was. Wesley laughed when Blake showed him the pictures.
"The baby looks funny."
"Yeah, they look kinda weird right now, huh."
"Like a potato," Wesley giggled.
After they put Wesley and Brick to bed that night, they went to their bedroom as well.
"Wesley will be the best big brother," Blake said that evening.
"Yes he will," her husband agreed.
Caiden slid his shirt off and she stood ogling him. Her opinion that he was the most handsome man she ever had the pleasure of laying her eyes upon had never wavered.
After undressing himself, Caiden undressed his wife. He was careful to take her bra off as her breasts had been very sensitive due to hormone changes.
After he undressed her, he slid one of his shirts over her arms and then placed her on the bed. Crawling in next to her, he rested his hand on her stomach. Ever since the positive pregnancy test, her stomach was his favorite resting spot for his hands.
