Two months later
Caiden pressed his face into her neck and breathed her scent in. "I missed you," he said while squeezing her to his body.
They spent most of the week together, but Blake didn't see him at all over the weekend. They were both busy over the weekend. Caiden's truck needed worked on and Blake hung out with her friends Ronnie and Tabitha. It was the first time Blake had seen Tabitha since she returned back to the United States after her vacation with her boyfriend in Greece.
"I missed you, too."
"How were your friends this weekend?" He asked.
"Fine, I guess." Blake shrugged. "Ronnie was weird, but she usually is anyway. All she does is talk about the men she dates. And that's fine for her, but I'm just worried. Especially with the last time when I had to go pick her up. I feel like she's too focused on the money to care about her own safety."
"I know you're worried, Blake. You are a good, responsible friend. But it's not your responsibility to put yourself in danger to get her out of it, I just want you to remember that."
"I know I know," she said, bumping her head off his chest. "It was nice to talk to Tabitha though. I've missed her since she's been away."
"I'm glad you had a nice time with her."
"Me too. She said that she wants to meet you and Wesley."
Caiden nodded his head. "Bring her over some time."
His hands trailed down her back and rested on her butt. He ran his thumbs up and down the curves of her butt cheeks. "I'm staying the night tonight," Blake said.
"Good. Wesley will be happy, he's missed you."
"Really?"
He nodded his head, "yeah, yesterday night I said your name and he spent the rest of the evening looking around for you."
Her heart shattered in two like a razor blade had been thrown into the center of it and cracked it down the middle. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize he was so attached to me," she said. Though, Blake was very attached to him already. She missed him anytime she had to leave him or spent a weekend without seeing him. She regarded him almost like... her son.
"He's very attached to you, darlin. Just like I am."
"Is that a good thing, that's he's so attached to me?" She asked.
"Why wouldn't it be?" He brought his hands to rest on her waist.
"Because I'm not his mother. Maybe you don't want him to become so emotionally attached to someone who isn't his mom."
Caiden's face hardened slightly before he answered. It was like he was thinking back to the demons that haunted his past. "Wesley doesn't have a mother, Blake. You aren't imposing yourself inappropriately or taking someone's spot."
"What are you saying, Caiden?" She asked, wanting him to further his answer.
He stared at her for a minute, collecting his thoughts before answering. He wanted to articulate his thoughts so he didn't scare her away or pressure her into agreeing with something she didn't want. "I want you to love him, and care for him, and discipline him as a mother would. I want you to be Wesley's mother."
Blake took a second to process what he was saying. He wanted her to be his baby's mother? "And another thing. I'd like for you to move in with me."
"I... um... are you sure?" She asked.
He roughly pulled his fingers through his hair. "If I overstepped my boundaries by asking then I apologize."
Blake hurriedly shook her hand and grabbed his hands. "No! That's not it. This is just, like, a big step in both of our lives and Wesley's, and I just want to make sure you mean what you're saying. I'd love to move in with you and be a part of your family, Caiden. When I said I loved you, that love wasn't just limited to you. It was extended to your son as well."
