Caiden sighed and rolled out of bed. "I'll get him. You stay here." He threw on his boxers and a pair of gym shorts. Walking out of the door, he headed into Wesley's room. The baby was crying; he most likely needed a diaper change after his nap.

Blake stretched out against the bed, bringing relief to her tight muscles. Swinging her legs off the bed, she stood up and glanced down at the mattress. It looked like a tornado swept through the place. The blankets were in a disarray and two of the pillows had fallen off and now laid on the floor.

Her mouth dropped open slightly when she saw the remnants of her virginity staining the sheets. A blush spread across her whole body out of sheer embarrassment. She dressed in a pair of shorts and one of Caiden's shirts, then she quickly pushed the blankets to the floor and stripped the fitted sheet from the bed. She crumpled it up and discarded it next to her.

After putting a fresh fitted sheet down, she started to make the rest of the bed. "What are you doing?" Caiden asked as he walked into the room.

"Oh, I'm just changing the sheets."

"You didn't have to do that so soon, darlin."

"Well, I just thought, that maybe you wouldn't want to see," she explained.

"See what?"

She stared at him in disbelief. Did she really have to spell it out for him? "The blood," she answered.

Caiden shook his head and pulled her into his chest. "Sweetheart, the bloodstain in no way upsets me. You didn't need to do this. You have no reason to be embarrassed."

"I just thought that, mmhhh, I don't know," she grumbled in frustration.

"You overthink everything, Blake." He kissed her forehead. "Don't be embarrassed, it's okay." He bent his head lower and kissed across her closed eyelids, her nose, and her cheeks.

Blake giggled and wrapped her arms around his waist. "Okay."

"I love you," he whispered against her neck.

"I love you, too."

"Wesley's awake, so I'm going to take him downstairs for a bottle," Caiden said while pulling a t-shirt over his head.

She nodded and followed behind him while he picked Wesley up and then headed down the stairs.

"My mom called me yesterday before you got home from work," Blake said, sitting down at the kitchen table.

"What did she want?"

"She invited the three of us over for dinner on Thursday. If you want to go that is."

"Yeah. It sounds like she's finally opening up, being the mother she always should've been."

Blake nodded her head in agreement. "It's kind of strange, I'm not used to it. But I'm proud of her and I hope she continues down this path."

"I think she will, sweetheart," Caiden responded.

"So you're good with going over there for dinner?"

"Yes," he answered.

On Thursday, Blake, Caiden, and Wesley arrived at Diane's house. "Mmh, smells good," Blake said when she walked through the door. It had been quite some time since she'd walked through that front entrance to a home-cooked meal. Before Blake's dad died, Diane was a wonderful cook. She never allowed anyone else in the house to cook except for her.

"Yes, it smells very good. Thank you for inviting us over, Diane," Caiden greeted and handed her the flowers they'd picked from Caiden's greenhouse before driving over.
