A/N: For some reason I couldn't get the screen to come up to post on Sunday so I'm posting it now. The storyline is going to change to a more romantic focus on Chace and Rylie after this fiery chapter which you will see why as you read it. This story is still a romance story with suspense. The suspense will gradully return along the way. Rylie and Chace do need some work if they are going to make it together. Hope you all stay tuned. It might get cheesy or they might kill each other. Neither wants to be the first to admit to their feelings but I think you'll enjoy how Chace stumbles around to show her how much he cares for her and how she takes care of him.
Chapter 32
The front door of the Mansion is opened by a woman about Chace’s age. She smiles at him flirtingly gesturing for him to enter. He takes a look behind him at the parking lot and beyond noticing an unmarked car sitting off in the distance. Taking a cautious step inside to follow the woman he looks around as he goes.
She guides him through the foyer into the main living area of the house. It looks so huge and empty when it isn’t filled with men lusting after the women that work here. Chace looks up the grand stairway to find Asa James slowly making his way down the stairs. He’s wondering where they are keeping Rylie. He wants to see her now before they talk. No one else is visible to him but he’s sure they are being watched closely.
“Mr. Braxton, you are a few minutes early. I apologize for not being downstairs for your arrival.” Asa James says as if they are business associates working on a legal business deal.
“You don’t have to be so formal Asa, bring Rylie to me and tell me what you want from my family?” Chace says abruptly.
“My, my…..such anxiousness Mr. Braxton. You know my nephew is much like you. You young men are always in such a hurry to get your way. I assure you Ms. Cameron is doing well. She is locked upstairs safely in one of our rooms she will be released to you soon. I have no wish to harm her I’m pleasantly surprised to say she is a very intriguing young woman. It is a shame that her life has been disrupted in such a way. Let us go in and have a seat so that we can discuss what it is I have to tell you.” Asa walks ahead of Chace into his living room.
He offers Chace a drink, Chace declines. He offers a seat, he declines. “Very well Mr. Braxton let’s get down to it. I wanted to meet with you face to face not only for the obvious reason you are here but because we have a mutual problem and I need your cooperation in these matters. Your company handles a mutual client of ours money while my business takes care of his pleasurable needs. Senator Layton is making himself a nuisance for me and my business as well as yourself I understand. He is nervous over the death of Kayla Adams. This murder must be resolved.” Asa comments.
“Kayla’s murder Asa is making everybody nervous. If you took Rylie and brought me here because you think either of us told the police your nephew and his men were there, you’re mistaken. The police have the video from the gym. Quinton and your men are on it several times. That is your nephew’s fault, it has nothing to do with the Cameron women or my family.” Chace remarks.
“On the contrary Chace it does. You see my nephew did not murder Kayla Adams and neither did I. We are not going down for this murder. Kayla was helping us to get our list back and bring Monique to us. The person that killed her is trying to set my nephew up. You and your brother Jayson were there. I have sources that tell me you and your brother were not together at all times while you were at the gym. I believe that your brother could have killed Kayla and he is setting up my nephew.” Asa explains.
