Yeah.....we barely made it.We crashed in a field.
"You should've brought the Avengers' superjet." Dad says as the three of us walk away from him.
"I swear, if I hear one more word from him, I will kick him in the face." Yelena says.
"He's the worst."
"Natasha.....Natasha. Natasha. Come here, I want to ask you something." Dad waves her over. "Come, it's important."
Yelena and I stop and turn as Nat walks over to him. "What?"
"Did he talk to you about me? Did he talk to you about me? You know, trading war stories?" Dad asks her.
"Who? What are you talking about?"
"Captain America. My great adversary in this theater of geopolitical conflict. Not so much a nemesis. More like a contemporary, you know? Coequal. I always thought there was a great deal of mutual respect..." Dad nods.
"Wait. You haven't seen us three in 20 years and you're gonna ask me about you?" Nat asks.
"What is with this tension? Did I do something wrong?" Dad asks.
"Is that a serious question?"
"I only ever loved you girls. I did my best to make sure you would succeed to achieve your fullest potential, and everything worked out."
"Everything worked out?" Nat asks.
"Yes. For you, yes. We accomplished our mission in Ohio. Yelena, you went on to become the greatest child assassin the world has ever known. No one can match your efficiency, your ruthlessness. And Natasha and Y/N, not just spies...not just toppling regimes, destroying empires from within, but two Avengers. You three have killed so many people. Your ledgers must be dripping, just gushing red. I couldn't be more proud of you."
He pulls the three of us in. Nat scoffs and pushes away from him.
"Okay. You can... No. Let go of us now." Yelena pushes him away from me."You smell really bad." I frown. I groan as we continue to walk down the road for twenty minutes. "So, are we there yet?" I ask.
"You'll know when we're there." He starts snorting like a pig. We walk down the hill and stop at a fence to see momma. "Honey, we're home."
"Momma." I smile.
She stares at all of us, then looks down and walks over to the house. "Come on, girls." Dad nods.
She opens the door for us and sighs, "Welcome to my humble abode. Make yourself at home. Let's have a drink."
Yelena and I step into the dining room, I walk over and sit at the table in front of the window, Yelena sits in front of me. "Yelena...Dreykov really did tell me you were dead. I refused to go collect a girl when I was ten. I refused to kill her parents. So he told me that he killed you. He tortured me all the time by telling me how he killed you slowly." I shake my head. "I've been haunted by the thought since I was ten. I blamed myself for your death." I look up at the ceiling as I start to cry. "I got out at sixteen....wanted to do good. I wanted to protect people. I met Tony Stark....the love of my life. But now that's fucked up because of me. And I'm afraid I'll never get him back."
"Y/N..."
"Yelena...my point is that all I do is fuck things up. All I do is hurt people. I hurt you...and I didn't even know it." I grab her hand. "I'm so sorry, Yelena....I'm so sorry."
Her lip quivers. "Y/N...don't. I'm not upset with you. Nat's the one who didn't tell you." She lowers her voice and looks up as momma and Nat joins us.
