Chapter 51 - Snap

I return back to the compound and meet with the others in the lab, we all stare down at the new gauntlet, now hosting the Infinity Stones.

"All right. The glove's ready. Question is, who's gonna snap their freaking fingers?" Rocket asks.

"I'll do it." Thor steps up.

Scott looks up in shock. "Excuse me?"

"It's okay." Thor pushes past us as we try to stop him.

"Wait, wait, Thor, just wait. We haven't decided who's gonna put that on yet." Steve says.

"I'm sorry. What, we're just sitting around waiting for the right opportunity?"

"We should at least discuss it." Scott says.

"No, no, sitting here staring at that thing is not gonna bring everybody back. I'm the strongest Avenger, okay? So this responsibility falls upon me. It's my duty." Thor nods.

"It's not about that–"

"It's not that...Stop it! Just let me!" He starts to tear up as I stand in front of him. Thor shakes his head as he grabs my shoulder. "Just let me do it. Just let me do something good. Something right."

"Look, It's not just the fact that that glove is channeling enough energy to light up a continent, I'm telling you, you're in no condition." Tony says.

"What do you...What do you think is coursing through my veins right now?"

"Cheez Whiz?" Rhodey asks.

"Lightning."

"Yeah." I smile sadly.

"Lightning won't help you, pal. It's gotta be me." Bruce speaks up.
Thor let's go of me and turns. "You saw what those stones did to Thanos. It almost killed him. None of you could survive."

"How do we know you will?" I ask.

"We don't. But the radiation's mostly gamma. It's like...I was made for this."

Tony turns to me, "This is a good time to give you your anniversary gift." He rushes over to his coat and takes out a box. I walk over to him as he pulls out a necklace with a round gem. Tony puts it in me, it sat right above the necklace Yelena gave me. "Your very own suit...tap the middle." I do as he says and a blue Iron Woman suit appears. "Just like mine." He smiles.

"This is...amazing. Thank you Tony." My helmet goes off as I lean in to kiss him.

I pull away as he smiles and put my helmet back on. "Good afternoon Mrs Stark." Friday says.

"Good to go, yeah?" Tony asks as everyone returns in their suits. 

"Let's do it." Bruce nods. 

"You remember...everyone Thanos snapped away five years ago and just bringing them back to now, today. Don't change anything from the last five years." I say.

"Got it."

"Friday, do me a favor and activate Barn Door Protocol. Will you?" Tony asks, the the whole facility goes on lockdown. 

"Everybody comes home." Bruce nods, Putting on the gauntlet, which nanobotically expands to fit his hand and the power surge overwhelms him. He grunts in pain.

"Take it off! Take it off!" Thor yells.

"No, wait. Bruce, are you okay?"

"Talk to me, Banner!" Tony yells.

"I'm okay. I'm okay." Bruce nods, Thor gives a double thumbs up. Bruce screams, fighting through the intense pain coursing through his body courtesy of the gauntlet, and manages to snap his fingers. He faints and the gauntlet slides off his arm, Clint kicks it away.
