The seven 1-A heroes who went to Lagos walked through the Avengers facility somewhat dogged by questions. None of them wanted to talk about it. The questions were barely being kept at bay by Iida when he saw how despondent they were. They all separated into their rooms. Uraraka and Midoriya stood outside the doors to their rooms.
"How can we have let it happen?" Uraraka asked, "We were helpless to save them."
"I once asked All Might if he ever couldn't save anyone," Midoriya said, "and he admitted that because he couldn't be everywhere, he knew there were people calling for him that he knew he couldn't save. Being a hero means picking yourself up and saving whoever you can, however many that may be."
"It still doesn't mean that I have to agree with us being helpless to save those people."
"But we saved so many more. I'm upset, too. But we have to look on the bright side, I guess."
He couldn't convince himself of it. They exchanged a hug and went to their rooms. From a corner, Kirishima and Ashido had seen what had transpired between them.
"They couldn't save everyone?" Kirishima asked.
"What happened in Lagos?" Ashido asked.
"Rumlow had a suicide bomb," Bakugo said, surprising both of them, "Poltergeist caught him in her energy, but couldn't keep him from going off. To save everyone, she threw him into the air. Unfortunately we were next to a building."
"Oh, no," Ashido covered her mouth, "that's... that's terrible!"
"Well, at least she saved a ton of people, right?" Kirishima said.
"Damn IT, DON'T YOU GET IT?!" Bakugo screamed, "WE COULDN'T SAVE EVERYONE!!! IF... IF WE HAD DONE BETTER... IF WE WEREN'T AS WEAK..."
He took off. His mind was flashing back to All Might losing his strength after his last battle with All For One. He threw himself onto his bed and screamed. Ashido and Kirishima knew better than to follow him. They both went to the common area, where most of the rest of the class was. They told them not to ask them about Lagos.
Ashido was admiring her puppet mastery, seeing Tokoyami and Tsuyu together, and Ojiro and Hagakure together was satisfying to her. She wanted to be satisfied, but she was the last one that was still single. She had hoped that Hagakure would have attempted to set her up with someone, but she hadn't. It wasn't like she had no one she was interested in, but Hagakure hadn't even attempted to get her and her interest together. She was standing next to her interest: Kirishima. If she ever got the nerve, she would have confessed to him that she liked him even when he had black hair. She liked how much he grew and that she liked his tender and tough sides. She only didn't tell him because he still had some of his own self-doubt. She didn't quite know about what, but she knew it was over something.
On Kirishima's part, he admired Ashido. He still felt like she was better with her quirk and more useful than he was with his. He wanted to stand as an equal with her, but he fully believed he wasn't there yet. He liked Ashido but still saw himself as the weak willed kid who couldn't save his former schoolmates from being scared by Gigantomachia. He did a good job of not freezing anymore. The Battles of New York and Sokovia and the countless Hydra bases they've taken were proof enough, but he still felt he had a ways to go. He'd tell her that he liked her when he felt he had caught up. Even though he believed it'd take him his entire life.

Only a few days had passed since Lagos. The seven didn't need to open up about what had happened there since the news did that job for them. They filled in the details that the news ever so inconsiderately left out. All of the classmates understandably were shaken with them. Some knew they had done what they could, and others believed that they could have done more if they'd been there. Vision phased through the floor of the common area, where they were gathered.
