Five Years Later

Midoriya walked through the door and placed the duffle bag on the floor. He breathed out a sigh of relief that hid disappointment. He heard food sizzling in the kitchen and went in that direction. He saw her at the stove, rather wrapped in the work. He wrapped his arms around her. She briefly freaked out before seeing the familiar scars on his arms. She turned around and kissed him on the lips.

"Didn't hear you come in, Izuku," she said.

"Sorry, Ochako," he replied, "but I didn't want you to see my disappointment before I got the chance to -"

"Then this lead was false, too?" She interrupted, her own voice filled with disappointment.

"Yeah," Midoriya answered, "another rock that amplified a quirk user's powers. Sixth one in these five years."

Uraraka dished out the food, and they ate at the table, recalling the unfortunate pattern of the time since they returned. As soon as they had dealt with All For One, they began searching for whether the Avengers existed in the past and present. None of them did. As they had fully intended, they attended their studies in the day, which with the League of Villains gone made the rest of their school years seem dull, and in the evenings and nights, they searched for any Infinity Stones.

A month after they'd returned, they heard of a stone able to warp space, and Kaminari, Jiro, Sero, Minetta, and Shoji went to find out if it really was the Space Stone. It ended up being a piece of quartz that was amplifying a teleporting quirk user, going by the name Wormhole and leading a group called World Remakers, from being able to make portals to teleport small objects, no bigger than a car tire, to portals large enough to teleport entire skyscrapers. But the second any of Kaminari's electricity hit it, it cracked and eventually broke.

A few months later, after they'd been back for a year, they heard of a stone that could control people's minds. Midoriya, Uraraka, Bakugo, Todoroki, and Yaoyorozu, with special help from Shinso, all went after the stone. It was an obsidian shard amplifying another quirk user, named Sith with his own organization called The Order, from his quirk, Mind Trick, only swaying some person from doing something they were already disinterested in doing, to controlling people in a similar way to Shinso's Brainwashing, except unable to be broken out of as easily. Ironically, Shinso managed to get Sith to destroy the rock after the latter fell prey to the former's quirk.

Another year after they'd returned, they had another report of a stone that had limitless power. Kirishima, Ashido, Aoyama, and Koda checked that out and were immensely disappointed to discover it was literally just uranium in an experimental nuclear reactor. Nothing happened there.

Three years after they came back, they heard of a stone that was draining people of life. Asui, Tokoyami, Ojiro, and Hagakure investigated it. It was slate amplifying a bio energy quirk (user Nihilis, group name Drainage), turning it from one that would normally just add adrenaline to a person to wake them up or take it away to make then sleep, to one that could sap them of life itself. Needless to say, Dark Shadow was unaffected and destroyed it.

Four years later, they read about a stone that affected time. Iida and Sato, with help from Kendo and Tetsutetsu, went to see if this one was real. It was pyrite that amplified a time user's quirk. The user, named Paradox of the organization Rehistory, was using it to make his quirk, which could only slightly slow down or speed up time around himself, powerful enough to the point where if he concentrated hard enough, he could reverse time or affect an area of almost a mile around him. Tetsutetsu was able to crush the stone, though.

This last one, five years after they had returned, was the worst blow to them, though. It matched all of the criteria: a red stone that had no permanent form, meaning it wasn't solid or liquid, that could alter reality. Midoriya, Bakugo, Sero, and Shoji all went after it. What they stumbled upon was a creature calling itself Homunculus with a quirk called Alchemy that had what he called a Philosopher's Stone made from human lives. All four heroes fought him until the stone had apparently used up its energy and disintegrated. (Yes, that's a Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood reference)
