"Wait! Before you tell me to go I have something to say." I finally found Clarke hiding in the bushes, ready to attack an animal. I didn't think it was her at first because she dyed her hair red, but I would recognise those ocean blue eyes anytime. Now we are standing in front of each other and she's about to leave me again. "I really love you, Clarke Griffin, even after everything with Lexa. I missed you like crazy in those three weeks. So please don't tell me to leave because I want to be here for you, even when you don't want me to." For a moment it looks like she's about to get angry and have a heated discussion with me, but then her eyes get soft and watery as she speaks quietly. "Thank you. I know I don't deserve this, deserve you..." Before she can finish her sentence i rush towards her and wrap my arms around her. "I'm not going anywhere."
The next few weeks go by in a flash. We talk a lot and catch up on everything that's happened those three weeks, we hunt together, we swim in the lakes, we hide from the grounders, I get hurt and she bandages me... Ofcourse there are also the hard moments: Clarke not able to sleep because of the nightmares, missing our friends, us fighting over little things... We usually kiss after we make up and yes, we occasionally have sex because we both know we need it. She needs someone to distract her from her thoughts and I need her but we still care about each other. Like the one time we had passionate sex in a dimly lit cave behind a waterfall.
We are sitting on a fallen tree, looking out over the lake where we just tried to fish. The birds are chirping and it's peacefully quiet. "Do you know the real reason I left camp?", Clarke suddenly asks. "Yeah, Bellamy told me." With a confused expression on her face she turns to me. "Bellamy? I didn't know you could speak to him instead of glaring." "I'm capable of holding a decent conversation, Clarke." I roll my eyes at her and she smirks. She keeps staring at me, so I turn my head and raise my eyebrows. "I want to kiss you so bad right now", she says with that hoarse voice I love. "What's stopping you?"
