"Nala Jones." My principal said

I walked across the stage as I could hear my family and classmates cheering for me. My mom had a whole sign with my face on it waving it around as she jumped for joy within the stands. I did a little dance at the end before returning back to my seat.

I'm proud of myself. I accomplished everything I set out to do despite all the bullshit thrown my way. And on top of that...

I fell in love.

With my coach at that. Who would've thought. He hasn't told me whether or not he'd be coming with me to Louisiana but I respect his decision either way. After all he had just began his career as a Team Coach and he was damn good at it, and I wasn't just saying that either. Looking up at him on the stage as he sat by the rest of faculty I smiled to myself. We weren't on the best of terms right now but I'm glad that he's still in my life. Catching me staring he winks at me before returning his attention back to the Superintendent's closing speech.

I'm still not sure how and when I'm gonna tell my mom about us. I don't know how she would feel about it either. My mom was pretty laidback for the most part but that was because I was never a kid to get in trouble, outside of simple shit like not cleaning my room or not doing chores. But me telling my mom that me and my COACH have been in a relationship wasn't as simple as not doing chores.

After Ceremony

"Oh I'm so proud of you!" My mother said squeezing me to death

"Thank you mama." I smiled

"You did it babygirl." Pops said picking me up spinning me around

I didn't mind Pops potentially being my stepdad at all. I already looked to him as that father figure in my life anyways. He'd probably kill Chris once he was to find out about us.

"Aye shorty in the white dress." Kalani said making her voice deep

"I have a man." I said laughing

"Girl I didn't know this is what you had on up under that gown."

"You like?" I asked doing a little spin for her

"I love!"

I had on a white satin mini dress that had a cowl neck at the top. I opted for something simple. My hair was in its natural curly state since I've been having to put a lot of heat to it recently.

"Okay Miss Graduate I see you." Chris said approaching me

I always found it funny when Chris tried to act normal when other people were around. He always played it off well.
