"How long has this been going on?" My mom asked with her arms folded
Everyone was gone now accept for Pops and Chris. Skai left with Sebastian and his mother after her "special" announcement. So much for my BBQ.
"It started after homecoming." I answered
"And who initiated it?" She questioned
"Mama he didn't force me to do anything I didn't want to do!"
"Nala!" She shouted "Just answer the question."
I hated that they were trying to make it look like Chris took advantage of me. I wanted to do all the things we did together. Maybe even a little more than he did.
"He kissed me." I sighed looking away from Chris
I wasn't going to lie all my business was out there now. Might as well tell the truth.
"So you prey on young girls huh?" Pops spoke up "That's what you do."
"That's not what I do at all Terry." Chris answered defensively "Trust me I know how unprofessional and inappropriate this is, and I've tried time and time again to suppress my feelings but the more time I spent with Nala the more I fell for her."
"Are you guys having sex?" My mom asked
"Ma, please don't make me answer that." I hung my head down embarrassed
"No Sebastian said the two of you were sleeping together and now I want to hear it from you, don't you dare lie to me either." She pointed at me
"We've only done it once." I answered lowly
"Jesus Christ Nala you don't even know this man!"
"Yes I do! I don't just open up my legs to anybody."
"Was it consensual?" Pops asked
"Of course it was consensual we're in a relationship." I answered
"Not anymore!" Pops said " I don't want you two seeing each other anymore."
"With all due respect Terry you're not her father, you can't make that call." Chris said
"I suggest you shut the hell up." Terry said getting in his face
"Terry stop! Everybody just stop!" I yelled "I know the way Chris and I got together wasn't right and I'm sorry I kept it a secret but this is exactly why. Look at all the drama it's caused!" I sighed
"Did you just call me Terry?"
"Is that seriously the only thing that you're worried about right now?" My mother questioned Terry "My daughter is having sex with her coach who is 7 years older than her!"
"Well maybe if her father was in her life she wouldn't be searching for attention from older men!" Terry yelled
"Oh so this is my fault?" My mom scoffed
"You pushed Darryl away. You wouldn't let him just be a man and take care of you two due to your overwhelming pride!"
Darryl? That was my dad's name? My mom never talked about him much. She always just told me that he left because he couldn't handle the success of a woman. She would never elaborate.
"Oh don't act like you're his best friend now when you've been sleeping with me his ex-wife for months!"
This was turning into something completely different now. How do we go from Chris and I's relationship getting exposed to me now finding out the real reason my dad left.
"Mom, you lied to me?" I asked her
"I didn't lie Nala, you were a little girl." She spoked "I could only tell you what you would understand."
"Well I'm not a little girl anymore, and I haven't been for awhile!" I said "And you're no better Terry, you knew my dad this whole time and didn't think I would want to meet him!" I yelled "How could you guys do this to me?"
They both looked at each other search for some excuse to make this all better but nothing they said could.
"You know what, I can't be here right now." I said "Chris let's go."
"Nala you're not leaving with that man!" My mom said following us
"Watch me." I said before turning my back to her

I sat in the living room of Sebastian's home looking around. I definitely don't miss living in these small ass suburban houses. It was quiet as Sebastian's mom, dad, and himself sat across from me while I sat on the single loveseat in front of them. All that could be heard was the rather loud ticking of a clock.
"So Serenity, when exactly did you find out you were pregnant?" His mother asked
"It's Skai." I frowned "I found out a little bit after State Championships, it made sense on why I did so bad now."
"And how far along are you exactly?"
"6 weeks." I smiled rubbing my stomach
"And you thought it was okay to announce it to everyone like that?" His father asked me
"Well I tried to tell Sebastian at Prom but he kept pushing me away and didn't even defend me when Nala's lap dog assaulted me."
"Skai." Sebastian groaned
"Yes baby father?" I smiled
"Do your parents know?" His mother asked
"No, my mom's too busy parading around with Steve at Galas to even pay the slightest attention to anything that I have going on." I said rolling my eyes at the thought of my so called stepdad
"I see." His mother said clearing her throat "I was under the impression that my son was dating Nala, I didn't know the two of you were... involved."
"Barely." Sebastian said "I doubt the baby is even mine."
"Son I raised you better, you two didn't use protection?" His father asked him
"We did!" He yelled "I wore a condom and she said she was on birth control."
"Well hears a picture of our little blueberry if you don't believe me." I said sliding the ultrasound picture across the table to him
"Well I want a paternity test." He said
"Sebastian I've only been with y-..." I began to say
"I said what I said." He said
"Well until we know the results Sebastian you need to be there for her." His father spoke "I raised you to be a man, and a man takes care of his child and the mother of his child."
"But D-..."
"I don't wanna hear none of that, do you understand me?"
"Yes sir." Sebastian grimaced
