Timeline: Same Morning

"I knew that nigga was lying!" Kalani said smacking the steering wheel "So he just gave you it?"

"Not exactly." I said recalling our uncomfortable exchange "He's under the impression that when I come back from State we'll be together. However, I just said whatever bullshit I could muster up to distract him from seeing that I was putting the phone in my pocket."

"You sly bitch." Kalani smirked "Well delete that shit and throw it out the window so I can run it over."

"Don't gotta tell me twice."

I go to the video and delete it and just so there aren't any possibilities of this resurfacing somehow I reset the phone back to it's factory settings then toss it as we get on the highway.

*Phone Vibrates*

"So how's things with Coach Carter?" Lani asked nudging me

"Well I was about to finally get dicked down last night but guess who came knocking at my damn window." I said getting irritated just thinking about it again

"Damn I know you must've been pissed."

"Girl I was beyond pissed and then Chris had the nerve to accuse me of cheating on him with Sebastian."

"You're lying. Girl a blind man could see the amount of hatred you have for that boy. I can't imagine how much you hate him now knowing that he had Skai's phone this whole time."

"He wouldn't believe a word I was saying until told him that Sebastian and Skai were fucking each other. Then it was "oh baby I'm sorry" like nigga I've never given you a reason to not trust me whether it be on the track or in our relationship."

"We all have our insecurities Nala." Kalani shrugged

"I get that, because trust me I have mines to but you don't see me putting that type of pressure on him especially if he hasn't given me reason to."

"Y'all just need to talk."

"Girl I don't have time for that. I really need to focus up on State and nothing else. All this other shit can come after."

Kalani nodded and turned up the music. Three more hours till we get Los Angeles. I stare out the window as I recline my seat, I didn't realize how exhausted I was until now.

....

I open my eyes slowly. I had fell asleep. Sitting up in my seat I see us pulling up to the stadium parking lot.

"Finally you're up bitch I thought you died." Kalani said parking

"You're so extra." I laughed a little "Damn they still beat us here?" I asked looking at some of our teammates getting off the bus.

"Shoot I guess so."

Getting out Kalani's car I feel revived. I was here competing at State for two titles. All the drama that Skai caused was now behind me and for once I could finally just focus on me. Besides competing, State was always exciting. Our relay team had an interview later today with ESPN and tomorrow night was the formal banquet. I still needed to get shoes to match my dress so Kalani and I were gonna go up to the mall later once we finished here.
