I've been at Chris's for 3 days now and I must say I was having the time of my life. He spoiled me to the T from taking me out shopping, getting my nails done, and taking me out to eat at places I didn't even know existed. On top of that we've christened every spot in this house. Only place we haven't did it was the kitchen counter.
It was time for me to go home and face reality now though. My mom has been texting and calling me non-stop and so has Terry. I told them both I would only come home if they were both willing to tell the WHOLE truth. They agreed so here I am, sitting in Chris's Range Rover outside of my home. A car I didn't recognized was parked in the driveway. I would've already gotten out the car but I was nervous for some reason. What if the truth is worse than the lies I've been told this whole time?
"You want me to come in with you?" Chris asked
"Please?" I said unbuckling my seatbelt
He turns off the car and comes around to open my door for me. We walk up to the front door and it opens before I can unlock it.
"Nala my baby." My mom said hugging me tight "Thank you for bringing her home." She said to Chris
"No problem." Chris said
As we walk into the house I see Terry sitting on the sofa and another guy sitting next to him conversing quietly. Noticing our presence Terry and the guys stand up.
"Nala, this is your father." My mom said pointing to the guy
I said nothing in response to our introduction. He stepped forward towards me as I took in his appearance. We shared the same facial features.
"Chris, why don't we go out back." Terry said "Give them some time to talk."
Chris looked at me for approval and I nodded for him to go.
"It's so nice to finally meet you." Darryl said hugging me "My babygirl." He smiled holding my face
I small smiled as I took a seat opposite from him on the single lounger. I had tons of questions prepared in my head to ask him if I ever met him.
Why did you leave?
Did you not love me enough to stay?
Did you not want me?
Yet here my mind was going blank as both my parents sat before me.
"I read about your performance at State in the paper. You're a true champion." My dad said ending the silence
"What happened between you and my mom?" I asked disregarding his compliment
Looking at my mom he sighed before he spoke. Making me feel even more uneasy about what I would find out.
