Starsky and Hutch: Too Close To Home

The Meetings

My alarm went off as I let out a grown. I didn't want to get out of bed let alone go to work today. After last night I don't want to leave Angel's side but I know she can do it. I looked down to see her still snuggled up close to me. I kissed her head right before I started to move so I could get out of bed when her grip got tighter around my waist. I smiled down at her as I heard her say, "It's not time to get up yet is it?" I let out a chuckle at her morning voice that is so cute before I said, "Sadly yes it is time to get up." I heard her let out a sigh as I can tell that she didn't want to get up either. We laid there for a few more moments before I told her, "Sweetie, we really need to get up and get ready." She let out a sigh as she sat up to look at me. "Fine, if you say so." she told me before she kissed me good morning. "Who showers first?" she asked after she pulled away. "If you want you can," I told her. "Okay, I'll take one and then while you take yours I'll cook us some breakfast." "Oh that sounds like a good plan," I told her right before I kissed her again. She smiled at me, then she got up to get her clothes and then walked into the bathroom as I watched her every move.

Angel walked into the bathroom, turned on the shower but before she looked at herself in the mirror. I don't look so good at all, I thought to myself. I got into the shower thinking about the conversion last night that I had with David. Then I thought about the conversion I had with Bri in the car while she was taking me to see David. Never seen a kid killed in front of me, hard to handle, have to tell him, I did my job and I didn't let him down. Oh, how will I tell him and how will he take it. I can't tell him but I need to. Bri is right about that but how and when? With all that is going on right now I just don't know if I can talk about it. Maybe when all this is over then maybe I'll tell him about it but not now. I can't, I just can't as I let the tears roll down my face. I let the water wash them away and try to get myself under control. I get out of the show, get dressed and then walk out of the bathroom. I walked into the bedroom to see that David had not only sat himself up in bed but also dozed off again. I walked over to him, gave him a light kiss and that woke him up. I smiled at him before I said, "your turn." I then walked to the kitchen to make breakfast.

The sound of the water had Starsky dozing back off to sleep. I didn't even hear Angel come out of the bathroom but I did feel the kiss she gave me. I smiled up at her as she told me it was my turn to take a shower. I watched as she walked off to get us some breakfast, I just smiled and then got up. I got my shower and when I got out I heard Angel talking to someone. After I got dressed I walked into the bedroom as I heard her tell whomever she was on the phone that she wanted to have a meeting with Charlie. I just thought it might be Bri who called her to check up on her. Those two are like Hutch and I, but they are sisters instead of brothers. Bri and Angel have been friends longer than I have even known Hutch. I love knowing that she has someone there for her when I couldn't be there. Right before I was going to walk out of the bedroom I heard her hang up the phone. I walked into the kitchen, walked up to her and wrapped my arms around her from behind as I kissed her neck. She smiled as she turned in my arms then wrapped her arms around my waist.

"Do you want to get us some drinks while I get the food on the plates?" she asked. "Sure thing, what would you like?" I asked as I walked to the fridge. "Water please" "You got it. Who were you talking to this early in the morning?" Out of the corner of my eye I saw her tense a little bit as I got two bottles of water out of the fridge. She is normally not this uptight, I guess it must be all that happened this week that has her uptight, I thought. "It was Bri, she was calling to make sure I was okay and if I wanted a ride to work." she told me as she put the plates on the table. I thought it might have been Bri that called but I'm not going to tell her that. I sat down at the table, "I'm glad she called to check up on you." I said with a smile as I took a bit of the eggs that she had made. She gave me a side look before she said, "Well, I mean she is my sister and she did see me the way that I was yesterday. It only makes sense that she....." "Hey, hey" I said as I interrupted her. I reached my hand over the table to put it on her arm as I rubbed my thumb on her arm. "Calm down sweetie, I didn't mean it in a bad way. I just meant that I'm happy that you have someone to care about you and that you can talk to when you can't talk to me about your job." I said softly as I looked her in the eyes. I can see her start to relax some as she brought her hand over mine that was on her arm.
