When I woke up the next morning, I looked over to see that it was 5am. I let out a grunt as I didn't sleep well last night because I was too excited to bring my Angel home. I don't have to be at the hospital for at least a few more hours so I just laid there in bed thinking. I began to think about what happened over this week, the road of recovery that we both are going to walk through, both of our jobs and what she hasn't told me yet. I wonder why she didn't tell me about the nightmares. Does she not trust me? Does she not think that I can take it? I mean come on, I'm a cop and see so much, nightmares are nothing compared to what I see on a daily basis. I don't know but I'll talk to her about it today and I just hope that she will open up to me. I then got up to take a shower, went downstairs to eat some breakfast with my parents and thanked them for all they have done not only for me but for Angel as well. I then went to the store to get some food for our house and got her some clothes before I went to pick her up. Once I got all that done, I drove to the hospital with a smile on my face.

Once I got to the hospital, I parked the car and then went up to her room. When I got to her room, she was sitting on the bed with her legs hanging over the side with a smile on her face. "Are you ready to go or something?" I asked with a chuckle. She nodded before she said, "Yes and I hope that Jill hurries up to show you how to change the badges so we can get out of here." "Honey, she will be here soon. It takes time and you will be home soon." I said as I stood in front of her. She just nodded as I could tell that there was something on her mind. Just then we heard the door open as Jill walked in with a smile. "Hello you two." she said. "Hello Jill, how are you doing?" I asked her. "I'm doing great and how are you doing?" she asked as she put the bandages on the table. "I'm doing well, thank you. I'm just ready to get my Angel home." I said as I looked over at her. I noticed that she was just looking at the bandages as I couldn't really read her facial expression. I have always been able to read her but not this time. I haven't seen that look on her face before as it has me a bit worried.

"I'm sure you are, and I know that Angel is more than ready to leave as well. Are you ready to learn how to change the bandages?" Jill asked to bring me out of my thoughts. I nodded at her as she had me move so she could stand in front of Angel. "Okay, I'll have you watch me take the bandages off and then I'll have you rebandage her back up." she said as I nodded again. She started to take the bandages off as I watched. I would look up at Angel every now and then to see how she was doing. Through most of this, she had her head back, not looking at anyone but looking at the ceiling. After Jill got the bandages off, I could see bruises were three different colors. There were red marks on Angel's abdomen as well as her sides and stomach. It was almost like she was more than just kicked there. It made me mad, angry and sad all at the same time. I was brought out of my thoughts when Jill then moved to the side as she had me stand in front of Angel so she could show me how to bandage her back up. Angel didn't look at me the whole time I was putting the bandages on her. She would wince every now and then from the pain but that was about it. Once I got her all bandaged up Jill said, "Okay now for getting you dressed to leave. I'll get your clothes and I'll let David help you get dressed." "Clothes?" Angel asked as her voice cracked and I could tell that she was starting to get upset. I watched her as Jill replied, "Yea the ones you were wearing when...." I interrupted Jill before she could finish that sentence seeing how panic was starting to set in Angel again. "Thank you, Jill, but I have brought a few different things from home that Angel can pick which one she would like to wear." I said as I looked up from Angel to look at Jill. "Very well, buzz me when you are ready for the wheelchair." she said right before she left the room.

I turned back to look at Angel who was staring straight ahead of her with tears in her eyes. I put my finger under her chin to have her look up at me which was not easy because she didn't want to move. "Angel," I said softly as she finally looked up at me, I leaned down to give her a gentle kiss. She kissed back but I could tell she was fighting something at the moment. When I pulled away, I smiled as I lifted the bag up to show her what I brought. I won't push her into talking about it, I want her to tell me when she is ready even though I would really like to know what it is that is bothering her. She wanted the dress, so she didn't have anything tight around her stomach and I told her it was an amazing idea. She half smiled at me as I helped her into the dress before buzzing for Jill. While waiting for Jill I got her things together as she sat on the bed playing with her wedding rings. I put the bag on the bed when the door opened, and Angel jumped a little. She is really in deep thought about something, I thought to myself. Jill pushed the wheelchair into the room as she said, "Your carriage awaits your highness." Angel just smiled as she reached out for my hand to help her down. I put one arm around her while the other handheld hers to help her off of the bed and into the wheelchair.
