Chapter XI : Reunion

Haru had fallen asleep on the floating boat, before being suddenly woken up buy its impact on the land, As she stood up to look around she istantly reconized it was the port of when she and Jack had gone with those sailors, wich only meant that the village was near.

After clumsily making her way out of the boat, she walked exitedly in the direction of the village, most happy to finally see Jack again, they haven't been separated for more than a day and yet to hear it felt like an eternity, and after a few minutes of walking she finally made it in the village.

As she arrives she was greeded by the oddness of the place as well, as qhe called for Jack she was quickly interrupted by a woman, " Who are you calling for young lady? " asked the Woman, " I'm searching for Jack..Have you seen him anywhere?" replied Haru.

" Jack? of the mean the crazy man that came in yesterday? They arrested him" Replied the Woman, as Haru gasped in shock imediatly after hearing that? " Arrested him?! for what!" shouted Haru.

" Aree you kidding? the man was going all about being the emperror's son and he beated up the royal guards too! Goodness how insensitive, Everyone knows the emperror lost his decated ago" Replied the woman. " Lost his wife..oh dear on no.." replied Haru as she looke up to the castle, " Yes..the emperror was deeply affected by his loss and hasn't been able to show up in years, but in anyway's, the jack you are searching for is emprisoned in the castle, and if i was you, i'd probably move on with my day" Said the Woman before walking away.

Haru was worried, not only had she realized that all this time Jack must have been loked up in a prison, but also about how much pain he must have been in after getting rejected by his own father that can't remember about him, and at this very moment she took a deep breath before putting on a more determined look upon her face, " Dont worry Jack..I'm coming for you" Said she with a strong tone.

After the night has fallen upon the village, the moon was up to the dark sky therefore being the only source of light, Haru has been hidden for this entire time near the castle waiting for the giards to fall asleep, And when they did, she quikly and silently made her way inside the castle, as she rememberd vaguely the emplacement of the prison.

As she hid from the guards making a night inspection behing a grand pillar of the castle, she finally made the way to thhe prisons, before quietly stealing the keys from a sleeping guard before entering the room.

"Jack..? Jack its me..!" Whisperd she," Haru..?" said jack before stepping in front of the bars, " Jack! oh my goodness are you okay?" said Haru and she rushed in closer to the cage readu to get it open, " Iam fine but..what are you doing here..?" asked Jack.

" To rescue you of course!, You though i was going to leave you in here?" replied he as she got the cages open, " To rescue...me? does it even matter anymore..? i dont even..i dont even exist!" replied Jack in a sorrowful tone, 3 Jack i now what is happening but i can explain that to you later.." Sais Haru.

" You should just leave me here!..hope..is lost how am i supposed to fight if i am not even real..if am just bound to dissapear like her" Replied Jack, with small tears coming down his eyes, He was tierd, and probable spend the last hours foupting himself and his very existance, as Haru looked at the painful expression upon his eyes, she slowly reached her hand on both his cheeks,.

The Samurai, suprised by the sudden contact didnt move at all, as Haru was slowly drying up the marks of his tears with her fingers, as he slowly lifted his eyes to meet up with hers, she was simply smiling at him, a warm and delightful smile," Jack..i know how much you are hurting right now..and the hurt may never stop..but there is still hope, pehaps you way not believe in that right now, but i ask you to believe in us, i now that you are still hurting from uour past for a reason that i dont now yet..But believe me when i say, im going to be there every step of the way, im going to be there to help you Jack.." Replied She ina consoling whisper, as she caressed his cheek with her warm fingers.

Jack stood still for a moment, before slowly leaning towards her touch, taking in deep breaths, "..they have my sword" replied the samurai, " I think a saw it in the weaponerie on the way here..Should we go get it?" asked Haru, " Yes...we should" Softly replied the Samurai.

"Jack?" called Haru," Yes?" replied the samurai as he opened his eyes to look at her, " M-My hands" replied she with a small nervous laugh, " Oh i am so sorry!" Said the samurai bbefore stepping Back, " it is okay..now let us go!".

After quietly walking away frim the prison, they were able to get javk's sword back from the weaponerie, and as they walked towards the exit, Some guards arrived from the opposite side noticing them almost immediatly. " Catch them!" Orderd one of them, And without wasting a second, Haru held on Jack's Arm pulling to run along side her.

And as they ran, they locked themselfs in a room, and with the guards banging on the door trying to forcefully open it, " What now?" Sais Jack in a worry, as he pushed the closet to block the doorway, " I have an idea§" replied Haru, as she was attaching the bed sheets together the same way she did to escape this place at first.

As she was attaching the rope to the balcony, the Banging had gone lowder, and they knew that the door wasn't going to hold on any longer, " Jack Go!" Orderd Haru as soon as she finished tying the rope up, and Jack knowinf they couldn't afford to lose anymore time, went down the rope immediatly, " Haru you have to climb down now!" screamed the samurai the moment his feet has touched the ground.

And when Haru's Turn came, the Guard bursted into the room and threw the closet on the side in the matter of seconds, Haru gasped in utter panic, and knew she couldn't have enouth time to climb down the rope, and as the guards where rushing to get a grip of her, she didnt have any other choise but the jump out of the balcony.

She was falling down with her eyes closed, ready to recieve the hit of the ground's impact, but was suprised at the fact that she didn't feel anything, she opened her eyes only to meet with the samurai's, that had catched her from her fall, " Are you okay?!" Said jack in worry, as she opened her mouth to speak, she gasp at the view of the guards opening the castl's door's ready to rush at them at any given moment.

" Jack the Guards!" Screamed Haru, as Jack lited his eyes to see the guards where already running towards them, Jack immediatly started sahing away from them in an extraordinary speed, Haru was onto him as tightly as she could, and after a moment the guards finally had soped following them, and they finally where able to stop running.

" I think we lost them..." Said Haru while catching her breath, " I think so too...Never would i have imagine to run away from my own kingdom like that" Replied Jack, before being caugh up by suprise by the sound of the laughter, pehaps it was the exaughtion our the rush of adrenaline but she was lauthing to tears, and for a moment jack stood silent confused, but eventually started to be infected by her laughter as well, " Why are we laughting?" asked Haru still in her euphoria, " I dont know you tell me!" Replied jack still lauthing.

After coming back to their senses, they decided to start a fire and to make camp for tonight, and as they sat down, Jack was looking at Haru with a confused look, as if he wanted to say something but couldn't put the words together correctly, " uhm..Haru, Why didn't you..leave me in there?" asked Jack.

" What? why would i have ever want to leave you ? " Asked Haru, " I-i don't know..it would't do any good for you to get involved in all this mess and i just.." Said Jack looking quite uncertain, As Haru slowly got closer to him, holding both his hands in hers' " Jack..is it so hard for you to accept that sometimes..you need help too?" asked Haru, while looking him worrily in his eyes.

" No its not..i just want to now why you didnt leave that's all" Sais Jack, looking seemingly avoidant, " Because i car eabout you Jack..i care and believe in you most of all..i now something is weighning you heart, and if anything i won't force it out of you because i now how it fell you keep such burden inside you so for so long that it start's eating away everything you are and believe in...but just you i'll always be here to listen when you are readu to talk.

Jack had let go of a small gasp, overwhelmed with a sudden sadness he couldn't hid away anymore, his eyes where filling themselves with tears, and he looked at Haru with an expression that said that her words spoke more deeply that intended, but in some way's he was glad that they did, because he could finallyy be able to let go of the grief that was torturing him, and finally allow himself to be vulnerable at once.
