Chapter XXVII: the party

After arriving to the Mansion, Jack, Haru and Mrs Octavia got out of the carriage," Come on now we don't have all day! I have to get you ready before the guest's show up!" Said Lady Octavia in a thick English accent, as she walked towards the entrance whistling to the maids and Butlers, orderings them to take care of her new guests.

" Now don't you worry sweetheart's, they'll take good care of you, now see you toniiight!" Smiled Lady Octavia before leaving, as The maids suddenly took Haru by the arm pulling her away " Oh wait!" Gasped Haru, struggling to follow the maids, As for Jack, the butlers we're pulling him away as well, seemingly against his will.

For Haru, the maids had pulled her into an immense dressing room, filled with colorful and fancy clothing, going from small to big, to Hats and Jewelry with mirrors at every corners," Oh mademoiselle you have such a gorgeous face! And those eyes!, But this clothing you're wearing is so inappropriate for such a beautiful woman! We'll find you something more fitting!" Said the maid, Haru didn't have time to object that they had pushed here behind a curtain and took her beloved Shaolin clothing off,"Now dear! Red is the theme of tonight's party, so let us do what we do best!" Excitedly said the second maid.

After hours of preparation, of trying out different dresses and hair pulling, Haru was ready, she was looking at herself in the mirror, and one thing was for sure, she felt like a completely different person, perhaps it was the excessive makeup that made her feel so unrecognizable ?, She didn't like the color red all that much, if anything she preferred something more colorful like a mint green or a sunny yellow.

" Oh mademoiselle you look absolutely splendid!" Exlamated the maid," Thank you..i hear music, did the party already start?" Asked Haru," Oh yes it has! You should join them miss, I'm sure they'll adore you" Smiled the Maid, but quite frankly, her smiled seemed quite odd," Very..well" Replied Haru.

After stepping out, she followed the music into what seemed to be the party room, she looked around to see a while lot of people dressed in black and red, all drinking and laughing, she tried to find Jack among them but before she could find him, Lady Octavia called for her, " Oh Haru our special guest!, Please come have a drink with us"

Haru approached Lady Octavia and  was offered a tall glass of wine, " Lady Octavia, have you perhaps seen Jack? I have to talk to him" asked Haru," Oh I'm sure he'll b here in a moment darling!" said Lady Octavia.

After what seemed to be hours of hearing Lady Octavia speaking and gossiping around, Haru had the chance to sneak away from the conversation before starting to search for Jack, but like earlier he was no where to be seen, she walked through a long hallway, only to stop after noticing a unlocked door.

After walking in what seemed to be a study room with a desk in the middle of the room, " This place feels so weird.." she said, after walking towards the desk she noticed some writings that seemed fairly familiar, they looked that the documents that where on the floor of her house.

She gasped a little, taking a little step back onto a huge book shelf, she turned back, noticing something was strange about that shelf, and after a few minutes of investigating, she noticed a small button on the corner of it, after pressing it, the book shelf had opened itself to what seemed to be a secret passage.

She walked down the long gloomy stares, but stopped immediately after hearing sounds coming from the secret rooms in front of her, she carefully peaked in, trying her best to not get caught, and immediately gasped at the view of Jack being attached arm's and legs onto a chair, with him desperately trying to fight his way out.

She was about to approach, only to take a step back after noticing a man guarding the Samurai, but he looked extremely familiar, it was one of man's that attacked them back in the train, but how could it be?.
