Chapter XXII: the monks.

Haru looked at him,tears slowly dropping on her cheeks," Jack..!" Said Haru, with a trembling voice " i tough you'd never wake up..!" ,He slowly stood up, breathing rapidly, as if he couldn't believe that he was out of this dream, suddenly Haru jumped at him, embracing him into her arms, laughing in relief.

-" Oh my goodness you are okay! I was so worried you wouldn't wake up I..I!" Said Haru, in a cheerful tone," I.. am awake..I" Said Jack, still in confusion,He looked at her, as he slowly grabbed her by the Shoulder's, straightforwardly pressing a clumsy kiss onto her lips, Haru was without a doubt surprised by the sudden gesture, as he realized soon enough, or what's for him too late that she wasn't a illusion, before suddenly jumping back.

-" Ah! I am so sorry i..i dont know what came over me!" Said the samurai, im complete humiliation," Wait J-jack I-" tried to say Haru,"I..I shouldn't have i know i' am so so sorry!" stutters the samurai even more as he tried to take a step back.

Haru couldn't put a word since he was so desperately stuttering apologies to her, As she stood up on her knees and lifting one of her hands on his neck, while the other one buried its fingers into his hair, pulling him a bit closer towards her, suddenly putting him to Silence with a another, more tender and genuine kiss.

He had that shocked expression for a second before diving helplessly towards the kiss, embracing her as tightly as he could against him, as she slowly lowers her hand's on his shoulder's to intensify the kiss,After a moment,they gently parted a few centimeters apart from each other, their lips still barely touching, slowly catching up their breaths,Their eyes met again, both silent, too afraid to talk, with only the sounds of their breathing audible.

-" Jack..Jack..i-",Before getting to finish her sentence, they jumped in surprised as they heard the voices of two men's near the cave they were in," Are you sure you heard people in here brother?" Asked one of them," Yes...i am sure, lets keep looking" Replied the other person.

Haru and Jack looked at each other for a moment, before realizing in a blush how close they actually where from each other's faces before immediately taking a few steps back, Jack cleared his throat, trying to bury his flustered face by a serious tone," We..we should see what is happening outside!" Said Jack, " A-Ah yes! Of course! Let us go!" replied Haru, in a shy tone.

After stepping out of the cave, they followed the sounds of the two men's searching, until meeting up with them, they where what seems to be two monks wearing some kind of traditional orange Shaolin robes, Without hesitation, Jack bowed respectfully in front of them.

-" We come here in peace, we did not mean to intrude on your lands " Said Jack calmly, not wanting to alarm the Shaolin's, as they looked at him a little confused, but bowed back at him to show respectful in return, "We Welcome you, this area this no place for traveler's at the moment, we sense some... usual forces around the jungle lately" Said one of the monks," We..are aware of that already " Replied Jack, before letting fo of a little painful groan.

Haru slowly reached out to him, holdings his Hand in her's, " go easy on yourself jack..you still need time to heal" whispered Haru," What is that on your Arm? Did one of those creatures bit you?" Said the second monk,in shock," Ah I.. believe so " Replied taking a deep breath.

-" Wait..no one ever survived the bite of a demon.. " Said the first one before looking at the other Shaolin," Excuse me..? It seems the sun is setting soon, the creatures could be back at any moment now" Interrupted Haru worried,The monks took a deeper gaze at Haru, as she simply smiled awkwardly at them not wanting to seem rude, as the second monk seemed to whisper to the first one, as they simply smiled before responding,"..Yes, of course, we welcomed you to come spend the night in our temple, we shall help you get back on your journey whenever you are ready" said humbly the first monk," We would ne honoured to" Replied jack with a feeble smile.

After a long walk, the group finally arrived to the temple, as they entered had asked them to sit down a moment , before putting in front of them cups of tea ti help them relax from what happened outside, both Jack and Haru went dor the same cup, awkwardly touching each other hand, immediately blushing in suprise," Ah! My apologies!" Replied jack," No no its me !" Flustered Haru,After both of them turned their heads in opposite directions, trying to avoid eye contact as much as possible, Jack gently pushed the cup towards Haru.

-" T..Thank you " Whispered she, before taking it," Y-Your welcome" whispered he, while clearing his throat,As they drank up their tea, one of the Shaolin's they had met earlier came back, asking them to follow him," The grand master wish to meet you" Said the Shaolin," The.. grand master?" Asked Haru.

Both of them stood up, following the Shaolin through a long hallway, after opening a huge door, they found themselves in front of an old meditating monk in the Middle of the room, it was him, the monk master, the old master opened his eyes, putting his gaze on Jack and Haru, slowly nodding his head, as if he was inviting them to come Closer, which they did, the closer Haru got, the more she felt overwhelmed with a warm and familiar feeling, Jack slowly sat down on his knees, bowing on front of the master, Haru looked at him before doing so as well.

The old monk looked at them, with a soft smile appearing on his face,"..Ah..yes..you both, traveler's from another world" Whispered he slowly, Surprised both of them lofted they heads towards the master, How did he know?" No need to worry my children..i sensed your arrived into this world, i know what is the purpose of your journey" Said the Grand master.

" You..know?" Asked Jack," yes..you want to destroy the master of Evil once and for all..yes that's it " replied the monk while touching his white beard, before turning his gaze on Haru, " And you my child..you are the gifted one " said he once again,

-" Gifted one..oh you mean the blessed soul Right..? I've been questioning this at lot lately.." Replied Haru, lowering her gaze, " Yes..you are the gifted one, a soul so pure and powerful that combined with the power of the holy katana's holder, can bring an end to Aku's tyranny." Whispered the old monk.

" I dont..i don't think I am worthy of such blessing grand master..i..i don't see what is with me that makes me so worthy of such gift" Asked Haru in a sight, as Jack looked at her, he never noticed she was holding such a burden of emotional into her heart for the gods know how long, the old monk stood silent for a moment, before responding," Questioning if you are worthy, child, will lead you to a waterfall of answerless question's, you where chosen because you had something that no one else has ever had before you, just as the samurai has been given the holy katana, you have been given a power that could heal deathly wounds, purify corrupted spirits, a power that could bring back peace and harmony in our world, you shall seek meditation child, it might help you clear your Head from unwanted thoughts" Replied the grand master, with a gently warm smile.

-"..Thank you for your wisdom, Grand master" replied Haru with a respectful bow," Now.. traveler's, you have a long journey waiting for you, i suggest you take this this night and tomorrow's to rest in here" Said the grand Master," We are forever grateful to you grand master " Replied Jack.

Both of them thanked the old master for his hospitality, after that, they followed the Shaolin's to thei respective rooms to wich they shall pass the night's, Haru entered her room and sat down on the Bed with a long exhausted sight, before hearing a knock on the door.

" Come in" she said, the door slowly opens, letting the samurai take a step into the room, " Jack? Is everything okay?" asked Haru, "Me? Oh oh yes! Everything is perfectly fine i just..came here to thank you" replied Jack a little shy," thank me?..what for?" Asked she.

" Well..for everything, you looked over me when i was unconscious, you healed me you..took care of..m-me, i can't even imagine how frightening that must have been..  to reiterate, thank you Haru.." Said the samurai in a blush, while scratching the back of his head.

Haru laughed a little, making the samurai a little bit more inconfortable, before slowly looking at him with a tender gaze," you're very welcome..Jack" smiled she. A little flustered the samurai responded akwardly, " Ah! I should probably let you reste" Stutters jack before turning himself to the door.

" Wait Jack!" Said Haru, as he stopped, turning his head at her, " I..I just hum..good night Jack" whispered Haru, " G-Good night to you as..w-well" Whispered Jack as well.

After he came out of the room, closing the room behind him, Haru slowly laid down on the bed, she found herself smiling a little, he is adorable she told herself before turning to the side of the Bed untill she fell sweetly asleep.
