Chapter XVIII: In Egypt

After countless hours of walking it seemed that the sun light was stronger than usual, so much so that Haru noticed that Jack was looking kind of pal, all the fighting an drunning must have taken a lot out of him, and the heat wasn't helping his case" You dont look so good Jack..pehaps we should rest for the day and keep going tomorow?" Sais Haru in worry.

" Huh..? O-oh no do not worry about me, we are not so far from the next city so it is fine" Replied Jack while rubbing his eyes to keep him awake, " Well..you tell me if you need anything them" Replied she while looking at him with cincerned eyes.

After arriving to their destination, they immediatly noticed the diffrence between the last one they where in, this place was dead silent with no one whatsoever around, " How Odd.." said Jack while getting off his horse almost tripping the moment he had steppend on the ground, " Jack im worried about you..you should get some rest" Said Haru beforen gending him a gourd filled with fresh water, as he took it before drinking, " You are right..I woulsn't mind some rest, But if anything happens" Said Jack as he sat down, barely keeping himself awake," I'll wake you up..now come and rest" replied Haru, and right after that Jack has let go of a small smile before closing his eyes to fall asleep.

A few hours went by and Jack had finally woke up by sunset, anf after rubbing the sleep out of his eyes he stood up and began walking through the city, as he soon realized that it had a disturbing and unsettling atmosphere to it, and as he walked further and furrther she quickly noticed that everything around hum was destroyed and in ruins, How could he not have noticed this sooner? he told himseld' and as he kept on walking he stumbled upon a giant hole in the ground within containing a round tomb in it that seemed to be open, " Oh no..The minions of set!!" Gasped Jack mortified.

" The what?" Asked Haru as she was standing right behind him, making him jump in suprise, " Haru! We have to leave now!! " Said Jack in a hurry, " B-but why?" asked Haru confused while He was pulling her by the hand, " I dont have time to explain! we have to leave before the moon rises!"Replied he.

Thhey where running away from the tomb, but it was too late, as Jack lifted his head to see that the moon was already up to the sky and noises started to come from behind them, so without wasting a second, Jack pulled Haru behing a grand pillar and as she was to speak not a sound came out of her mouth at the moment she saw dog dhaped demons with golden heads walking right next to thel, seemigly not having noticed they prescence just yet, she qyuckly passed her hans on her mouth not allowing any sound to come out.

" The minions of set..." whudperd Jack, " What do we do..? We have to escape them somehow.." Whisperd Haru, " there isn't any escape..we have to find the pieces of the scarab" replied Jack while looking at Haru that was searching intensly inside her bag pulling out one of the pieces, " You mean like this?" asked she as the Salurai's face lid up with relief, " Yes..! We still have two more pieces the,!" Said he before immediatly realizing he spoke too loudly.

Withour wasting a second he grabbed Haru by the waist before jumping nearly a second before the pillar got destroyed by one of the demons hiding behing it, the demon barked in rage before starting to chase after them while holding a flaming blue weapon, " I know where the other pieces are! but we have to be quick!" screamed the samurai,as their eyes met to give each other a determined look, they nooded their head's in agreement.

Haru had let go of the samurai to run by his side, giving him enough to be able to draw his sword out therefore and immediatly after, one of the minions hand jumped in front of them ready to attack , but was suprised to see that They took advantage of the situation by sliding in between it's legs, as Jack stood up and brandishes his sword to cut through a giant pillar, making it fall on the others like a line of domino's, therefore winning them some time.
