Steve, Y/N, and Sam had managed to find an abandoned warehouse where they could stay low for a while, given that the CIA was trying to locate them after they manged to escape from the headquarters.

"Who could it be?" Steve pondered out loud, leaning on the wall next to Y/N who was rubbing the spot on her neck where she had been injected with a syringe.

"I don't know," Y/N shrugged,  peeping out of the window to see a helicopter of the UN take off into the air, "Whatever it was, it wasn't to kill me. But to get hold of me."

"Hey Y/N, Cap!" Sam called them from the other end of the warehouse.

At once the two jogged towards Sam and followed him to where Bucky was sitting. His left metal arm was held by a large drill, so that he wouldn't be able to hurt them.

Bucky was hunched over on his seat, his head hung low. Few strands of his hair fell over his features, obscuring his face slightly. He noticed his metal arm being trapped and groaned softly in soreness when he tried to sit up. Looking up finally, he noticed the three staring at him.

"Steve," Bucky recognised his best friend.

"Which 'Bucky' am I talking to?" he inquired at once.

Bucky took a few seconds to reply, "Your mom's name was Sarah. You used to wear newspapers in your shoes," he added with a prolonged chuckle.

Smiling softly to herself, Y/N turned to Steve for confirmation.

"Can't read that in a museum," Steve managed to give a small smile.

"Just like that, we're supposed to be cool?" Sam retorted, arching his eyebrows.

Bucky's expression dropped at this, "What did I do?"

"Enough," Steve answered succinctly.

"Oh, God, I knew this would happen," he sighed, "Everything HYDRA put inside me is still there," he grumbled, "All he had to do was say the goddamn words."

"Who was he?"

"I don't know."

Y/N tilted her head to the side, trying to get into Bucky's mind and furrowed her eyebrows in concentration.

"People are dead. The bombing, the set up," he trailed, "The doctor did all that just to get 10 minutes with you. I need you to do better than 'I don't know'."
