It was an eight-hour-long drive, but definitely worth it. Y/N stepped out of the car and closed the door behind her. Locking it, she walked deeper into the forest until she reached a clearing with a tombstone that read:

NATASHA ROMANOFF

Daughter Sister Avenger

"Hey, Nat," she crouched in front of the grave, setting aside the various cards and teddy bears in front of it, "Obviously, I'm very late but um," her lips trembled and she looked up to force her tears back in, "I thought I'd get you that drink I promised," she placed a bottle of liquor by the grave. She ran her hand over the tombstone, tracing her fingers over the engravings.

"Hi Vera!"

Y/N turned around at the voice and saw a familiar blonde walk towards her.

"Lena," she smiled, "Thought you would've left already. Hey Fanny!" she bent down and petted the dog, ruffling his fur, "I missed you too!" she mimicked a childish voice as the dog started to wag its tail in excitement.

Y/N had met Lena when they both had come to visit Nat's grave at the same time. Fanny had ran over to Y/N and cuddled against her leg. Lena followed her dog and found him with Y/N. The two eventually started a conversation and got to know each other.

Y/N didn't know why but she felt like she couldn't trust Lena. Something about her seemed to be hidden, concealed. So she never told her real name to her and instead just her middle name, which she barely uses.

"I should've left by now, but work stuff," Lena shrugged, "Dragged on. So, I couldn't leave earlier." Y/N nodded and they talked together for a few minutes about random things, walking and circling the forest clearing, "Those pants are peachy keen," she joked, making Y/N roll her eyes with a smile.

Fanny would occasionally find something and they would follow him, praising and petting him in appreciation.

"I better get going," Y/N adjusted the dark green jacket around herself, "What about you?" she raised an eyebrow questioningly.

Usually, the routine was that both of them would visit Nat once a month, and part together, taking their own separate paths. Though, neither of them were completely honest to the other, they felt at ease and consoled at the others' presence.

"Nah," Lena shook her head, "I'm just gonna stay here for a few moments. Alone. You know."

Nodding, Y/N gave her a final smile and walked back towards her car.

"I have a new target for Liana," Valentina said after giving Yelena (aka Lena, according to Y/N's knowledge) her new target, which was Clint Barton, "You wouldn't mind passing it to her, would you?"

"Liana's not with me anymore," Yelena informed, "She said that she was going to take a break. For a year or so. After our last assignment."

"Well, her target is Y/N L/N," Valentina handed her an A4 size sealed envelope, "Details are in it. And she knows very well that 'taking a break' does not work. But I guess she's an exception. This is her," she pulled out a tab from her bag and showed the picture of Y/N, who Yelena knew to be Vera.

"I feel Liana would like to have a go at her," she continued and grinned slightly, "Don't you think? She's kinda attractive too. Liana does have a thing for Enhanced ones. According to the old files that we've collected, she's most powerful."

Yelena was careful not to show any emotions of surprise and recognition as she glanced up at her and back down at the picture of Y/N walking across the street in a dark green jacket that she had just seen her in a few minutes ago.
