Chapter 19: Kingstons' POV

*Boom* a loud explosion of bright light and fire engulfed the room as I activated Rems' sun power as I danced around Carter burning his fur some. Growling, he leapt at me again as I activated my ice ability making him freeze in midair. Glancing passed him, I looked Rem in the eye and gave him a wolfy grin which made him chuckle before he thought "alright my silly wolf boy, would you finish this so we can go home?"

"Gladly love" I thought back with another toothier grin which Seri saw and laughed at too just before I thought again "have Seri close her eyes. I don't want her to see what I'm about to do." Nodding, I heard him whisper to her just as I saw her close her eyes. Then moving under Carter, I used one paw to slice his abdomen from between his hind legs up to his throat before backing off and with a leap ripping out his throat. Landing back on the ground, I used Rems' sun power to melt the ice and watched as his body fell to the floor bleeding out. Unable to look at Rem and Seri, I turned towards the stairs as he thought "bunny, you don't have to be disgusted with yourself. You saved us and did what you had to to make sure we stayed that way. I love you."

"I love you too babe" I thought back as I started up the stairs with them behind me. When we reached the top, auntie and uncle were waiting for us with Luna Peyton. Kneeling in front of me, she hugged me around the neck and whispered "don't worry, I don't blame you for any of this. You did what you had to do to protect your family and the man you love." As she began to sob, I heard auntie and uncle asking if Rem and Seri were okay.

"Yeah, we're fine" Rem said as Seri sniffled and sobbed. I could feel Rem watching me worried, so I thought "baby, I'm fine. Yes, he got me a few times but my healing ability has already kicked in. And yes, I'm still a little disgusted with myself for what I just did loosing control like that but he deserved it."

"I know bunny. I just hope you still feel that way later when the adrenaline wears off" he thought as auntie asked "is Kingston okay?"

"Yeah, he's fine. The Luna isn't mad at him or anything either. She understands that this was all her husband and sons' fault" he explained as Peyton said "now technically the pack belongs to you since you won the fight but I understand if you don't want to take control. It will then pass to Beta Christian and I will make sure he is aware of what has occurred and why. I will make sure you are protected."

"Thank you auntie. I think from this moment on, I chose to be a rogue. I don't want to run the pack, I just want to live my life with my mate and our family" I mind linked her.

"Okay sweetie. If that is your choice, then I will give you two days to break the pack link before I tell everyone" she said with a sad smile.

"I love you auntie. Thank you for raising me and loving me all these years" I thought as I laid my head on her shoulder.

"You're welcome baby. I love you too Kingston" she thought as tears slid down her cheeks. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Rem looking confused.

"What is it love?" I asked him.

"I was just wondering why the Luna is crying" he thought.

"I just told her I'm leaving the pack for good" I shrugged.

"Can I ask why?" he asked tilting his head to the side.

"Because I don't want to run the pack. As I won the fight against Carter, by all rights the pack is now mine, but I just want to live my life my way with the love of my life and our family" I said turning to look directly at him.

"Wait, I thought the pack went to Aaron now?" he thought confused.

"It would if he wasn't dead. I killed him while auntie and uncle dealt with the sentries. So, with the right of succession it's technically mine" I thought.
