Chapter 8: Remingtons' POV

Dinner with my family was fun but I was still exhausted. As we drove back home, I dozed off and Lucifer came to me again.

"Rem, we need to speak" he said pulling me to the fire side once more.

"What is it? What's wrong?" I asked starting to worry.

"Nothing is wrong exactly. King is physically fine though I have spoken with him. He's still unconscious but he has come to the conclusion that we are mates as he has been smelling your scent from the moment just before he passed out. I think he is still working on accepting it but he did make a suggestion to aid in his recovery" he said pausing.

"And what was that?" I asked not sure if I was gonna like where this was going.

"He suggested that something of yours be brought and placed next to him as it will help recover faster. It would be best for you to physically be there however as no one yet knows we are mates it would be impossible" he explained.

"And how am I supposed to do that?" I asked confused.

"He suggested you tell your parents first and then have them explain it to Noah, his best friend. He said he knows Noah believed him when he told everyone about his true mate being a vampire. If he doesn't believe the story, then show him your mark" Lucifer said.

"Alright, I wanted to wait to tell them after he woke up and accepted it but if it'll help him then I'll tell them as soon as we get home" I said sighing.

"Don't worry, everything will be fine. Speaking of telling them when you get home, you should wake up soon as your uncle just turned onto the road leading to your house" Lucifer said and then suggested "In order to get Noah to come talk to you, suggest that Seri invite her friend over as well as Noah and Carly to make her parents more comfortable."

"Alright, I'll do that. Thanks Lucifer" I said and woke up. Looking out the window, I watched as trees flew by the window as we drove down the lane thinking about everything Lucifer had said.

"So he's figured it out. Lucifer didn't say how he felt about it just that he'd put it together. I wonder if it has something to do with our marks" I thought touching mine. As we pulled into the driveway, I thought about how best to tell them everything. As dad parked the car, I made up my mind. After everyone was out of the car and walking towards the house I said, "there's something I need to tell you all once we get inside."

"Okay..." dad said followed by mom asking "is everything okay?" while Seri just nodded. Heading inside, we went to the living room. All three of them sat on the couch while I paced in front of the television for a minute before blurting out "I found my mate" which earned me a room full of gasps.

After a minute, mom asked "who? When? Why didn't you tell us?"

"You remember that wolf that was missing?" I asked after a minute.

"You mean Kingston?" Ali asked.

"That would be him, yeah" I said and let it sink in for a minute before Seri asked "he's your mate?"

"He is. I figured it out yesterday after I convinced him to shift back. His mark is identical to mine right down to the placement" I said watching everyone carefully.

"Okay. So, why didn't you tell us sooner? Wait, does he even know?" mom asked with a shocked expression and then asked "is that why you asked all those questions last night?"

"I didn't because I wanted him to figure it out on his own but there was a problem with that plan" I said.

"What was the problem?" dad asked speaking up for the first time in this conversation.
