Chapter 6

Logan's P.O.V.

I woke up the next morning wanting to hurry up and get to school. I wanted to have that talk with Gabe today and my brothers did too. I quickly got dressed and went downstairs. Everyone was awake. "Logan are you hungry?" My mom asks from where she stood cooking breakfast. "Of course he is Stella, he's a boy." My dad laughs. I smile. "Yeah mom I'll have some." I say and she smiles before filling a plate and giving it to me. As I sit down I look at my dad. He looks to be having a conversation with somebody through the mind link. His face looks worried. "Dad what's wrong?" I ask. He doesn't seem to hear me. "Kaiden what is it?" I see the worry on my mothers face as she tries to speak with him. I look at Dakota who also looks worried. Zach is to busy eating to notice anything and Jasmine is staring at our parents with confusion.

Sam comes running in. "My father is back Alpha." He says. My father finally snaps out of it and looks at Sam. "Tell him to come to my office now." He says. That's when I realize he's in full Alpha mode. Something is wrong. I look at Dakota who nods to me before standing and following our father. My mom and I follow them as well. Jasmine and Zach finally realize something is going on and follow us as well. We all step into my fathers office. I see Alec, Sam's father, and the Beta, walk in as well with Sam. Jamie walks in as well, Ariel's father and the Third of our pack. Right as the door is about to shut Ariel slides in. I see Dakota tense up as she comes and stands beside me. "So what happened exactly?" My father asks. "We were on patrol around the new rouges house since it's in our territory. We smelt rouges of course but not only the ones living there." Alec begins to speak.

I look at Zach who is looking at me. I know what he's thinking and it can't be true. "We decided to investigate some more and we found a group of about 10 rouges surrounding a man who was laying on the ground. He looked to be dead. As we got closer we realized it was the rouge who lives in the house with his family. We took out the 10 rouges, bring in 2 for questioning but one got away. The man is in our hospital wing now and his wife and daughter are with him. We don't know if he's going to make it." I freeze. Kendall's dad was hurt. "Thank you Alec.. I'll go down to question the rouges." My dad says. "Alpha.... you might want to know who it was that got away.." Alec says slowly. He glances at my mother. "What do you mean Alec?" My mother asks. "Stella.... it was Peter..."

The room goes silent at the name. Our mother had told us the story of Peter. The man who went crazy because he was in love with her. He tried to kill Kat when she was little. They always feared he would come back. My father snarls and everyone steps away from him. "Send out patrols. I want him captured and brought here to be executed!" He growls. My mom looks to be in complete shock. Jamie is hugging her and Alec is staring at the ground. I look at Ariel who looks terrified.

Something clicks in my head. "I have to check on Kendall." I say before running from the room. I run to the hospital wing and see Kendall sitting alone with her head in her hands. I walk over to her. "Kendall... are you ok.." I ask slowly. She looks up at me and I see the tears in her eyes. I pull her to her feet and into a hug. "He's gonna be ok..." I say softly as she cries into my chest. "What if he dies Logan?" She sobs. I sigh and hug her tighter to me. "He won't. He's strong." I say. "Those rouges... they're the same ones who killed our pack..." She tells me. I growl. "Don't worry. They will pay for what they've done. All of them." I say. She looks up at me. "I don't know what to do..." She says quietly. "It'll be ok. Lets go check on him together ok?" I ask and she looks away. "They won't let me in..." She says. I smile. "They'll let me in, come on." I lead her to the room and I knock on the door. The doctor opens it an looks up at me. "Logan? What are you doing here?" She asks. "We came to see the man who was attacked. This is his daughter and my friend, Kendall." I tell her. "Alright I guess you can come in for a while." She says, stepping aside to let us into the room. Kendall runs past her over to her father. I follow behind her as the doctor leaves the room. I see him and wince when I see the condition he's in. Kendall begins to cry even more. I walk up and hug her from behind. She turns and hugs me back and she cries into my chest. "He's gonna be ok.. the doctors will help him.. I promise." I tell her as I rub circles on her back. "But... we're rouges..." She says as she looks up at me.

We need to help her...

My wolf whimpers. Why is he so sad? I don't understand why I feel like I need to protect her.

I don't know either Logan... I just feel sad when she cries..

Ok Kai we will figure that out some other time. What do we do now though?

I don't know.. We should talk to your dad about brining them into the pack before more rouges come around.

Ok. I'll do that when I leave here. Forget school.

Kai agrees then shuts off the conversation. There's a knock on the door and Kendall steps away from me as her mother comes running into the room. She has tears in her eyes. The doctor comes in behind her. He sees me. "Logan you should be in school, not worrying about a rouge." He whispers to me, but I know Kendall and her mother heard him. I snarl at him. "That girl is my friend. Her family is just as import as every other family in our own pack. You are to do everything you can to save that mans life, or you will have to deal with me." I see fear clear in his eyes. "Yes Logan. I will." He says quickly.

I turn to Kendall but she is hugging her mother as she cries. "Kendall... I'll see you tonight ok.." I tell her. She looks up at me. "What's tonight?" She asks, wiping the tears off her face. "The dance.." I tell her. She frowns then nods. I turn and left the room only to run right into my father. He looks worried. "Logan what's wrong? Why did you threaten the doctor?" He asked. "He thinks they're just stupid rouges. They are just like us dad, only without a pack. Because of rouges." I glare at him as I speak. He sighs. "Logan if it's that girl-" "That girl has a name, and it's Kendall." I cut him off. "Alright then Kendall. If this is because you have some crush on her then it needs to stop. You're going to find your mate in a couple weeks and your going to hurt your mate." I hold my hand up for him to stop and he glares at me. "I don't have a crush on her. She's my friend. Rouges are exactly like us, and ones like that family deserve to be taken in by other packs. But some pack are just to ignorant to accept them." I say. I didn't bother to tell him about me not wanting a mate. I knew it would make him angry. "I'm not letting rouges into our pack." He growls before turning and leaving. I roll my eyes then walk out of the building. I guess I'll forget school and go home instead of trying any further to convince my father to let Kendall's family join our pack.
