"You won't choke me when you come out, right?" She smiles, what a tease.
"Stop it," I warn her. "That's a bad habit I can't seem to get rid of, and your neck looks pretty with my hand around it anyways," I smirk and she rolls her eyes.
"It's okay, I...

"Hey Mom, how are you?" I ask her sleeping figure, she's been better lately, at least that's what the doctors have told me. She's awoken from her coma and now is getting so much better than she was a month ago.
Now that she's not smoking or drinking and is getting the right nutrients she's getting healthier too. I'm happy to have her back, even her skin color has changed from the pale one she used to have before.
"I see you've gotten a lot better," I say and sit on the chair next to her bed so I can speak to her even though she's asleep. I spoke to her when she woke up too but she couldn't talk much, she told me she loved me and that she was sorry for the way she treated me and I accepted her apology because I love her and I never want to lose her. She's everything to me now that I've lost the person I love with everything in me, but that person does not feel the same about me in the slightest bit and I can't change that as much as I try to.
I sigh and brush my mom's hair back to reveal her long dark lashes that adored her rosy cheek.
"Please get better soon so we can leave here Mom," I whisper to her, and like she heard me her eyes opened and she looked at me, a smile forming on her chapped lips the second she saw me.
"Hello, my love." She says bringing a smile to my face as well. I grab her hand in mine and hold it as tightly.
"Hi, mom,"
"How are you my, beautiful girl?" My heart melts at her sweet words, I get closer.
"I'm okay, how are you?" I keep it short but hopefully believable.
"I'm fine...what's wrong?" She asks sending the discomfort in me.
"Nothing everything is fine." I shake my head but I know I've been caught and now I can't get out of this without telling her.
"Did that boy hurt you?" She says, she's my mother of course she would know me like the back of her hand, especially now that she's sober.
"Um...he has his own problems mom, I don't want to be involved with him anymore," I say, I don't know what that even means, I would never want to leave Landon but in this situation, it seems like the best decision, to get myself back on my feet again as well. "We're better like this anyways. I need to spend more time with you after all." I smile down at her hoping to change the subject.
"Yea?," I nod, "You've raised yourself so right, I am sorry I never was there to love you and teach you, although you seem to do well on your own." She starts and I swallow harshly, not ready to cry again today.
"No Mom, I am not okay without you, I am struggling so please get better sooner and come home," I beg her.
"I am going to come home my baby, I am just saying. The doctors told me I would be good in a few days and I'll get back to work as soon as I'm out I promise." She says in her cracking voice and I listen, nodding at her words.
