Chapter 40

   "Hey, time to go." Dan said tapping Natalie's door.

   "I'll be out in a minute, Daniel. It takes more than five minutes to look this perfect." Natalie yelled back sounding annoyed.

   "We're gonna be outside so come out there when you're done." Dan called back, walking away from the door.

   I should feel happy right now. Alana is going to the dance with me and I would rather be hanging over an active volcano right now than go to that dance. Why does my family always have to ruin everything? I'm probably gonna scare the whole school away from me and everyone's gonna ask why I've been gone for so long with no advace explanation. 'Family emergency' was the best Amy could do? 

   Dan was brought back from his thoughts when someone yelled his name. Dan turned around to see Amy running tword him - in heels. Dan's mouth dropped to the floor. Yes, Amy was RUNNING in HEELS. Dan  had never seen Amy in heel ever and here she was running in them.

   "H-h-how?" Dan said looking at Amy feet with an ajar jaw and eyes the size of soccer-balls.

   "What?"

    "A-are your running... in heels?"

    "Yeah. I just put them on and realized they weren't that hard to walk in. My feet hurt like hell, though." Amy said smoothing out the dress she was in.

   Due to the heels, Dan hadn't really noticed her dress untill now. It was a gray lace dress with see through sleeves that went to about elbow-length and went down till about knee length before layering out in the same material that the sleeves were. The body was tight but had white lace around the top that slowly faded going down. To be truthfull, Dan tought his sister looked hot, of course not in that way, but the dress was really beautiful.

   "Why all dressed up?" Dan asked as if her skin had turned green.

   "I'm gonna stay at the dance as backup in case we can't call for it in time." She said casually.

   "Let's go!" Natalie said jogging out of her room. "Oh, you don't look as bad as you usually do." She said looking Amy up-and-down a few times.

   Amy just sighed as if trying to not strangle Natalie and walked twords the door calling over her shoulder, "What cha all waiting for?". She sounded a little mad but walking out the door.
