Natalie looked through her bag. Did she have anything she didn't grab here. Why was she freaking out anyway. It's a two minute walk from her room to the hospital room. Calm down, Natalie. You're fine, you got this. Why does that boy affect me so much? Because you have a crush on him, stupid! She thought to herself. She knew this was because of Dan. Not that she would even admit it to herself, but somewhere deep in her mind she knew it was true.

"Hey, Nat." He walked through the door. "I brought McDonalds, but I don't remember if you like it so I just bought you a hamburger." He explained with an awkward laugh at the end.

"That's cool." Natalie smiled a genuine smile. When she was around Dan, she felt... normal, safe. While out in public, you would never think of Natalie as someone who would know all the 'txtn lang' or replys with 'cool' or 'eh, whatevz' but she was just trained to not let that side of her be seen. She was a normal teenager living a not-so-normal life.

"So, what up with you?" Dan asked while setting the food on a table off to the side.

Natalie sat down while replying, "Nothin', really other than my back hurts and my legs are pretty numb from not moving them for so long." She giggles leaning on her hand propped up on the table and angles her head so she was looking at Dan. "You?"

"Well, Jonah's having a concert this Saturday. We are coming in hopes of louring the enemies out. You think you're up for it?"

"Yeah, toally. Even though Jonah's music sounds like a cat with a hairball stuck in it's throat, he had some pretty cool concerts."

Dan's eyes got giant and his hand covers his mouth since he had some pop in his mouth and tries to swallow before spitting the contents of his mouth everywhere. "O-omi-i-i-g-g-od! I-i'm dyi-ing!" He choked out in between fitts of laughter.

"Okay, my jokes are pretty funny, but was it that hilarious?" Natalie laced her words with sarcasm and joking.

"I can't breath." Dan clutched his stomach and fell to the ground. Natalie was laughing equally as hard and banging her forehead against the table. Five minutes later the two sobered up, still giggling every few moments.

"Okay, that was pretty freakin' hilarious." Dan said unwrapping his burger after handing Natalie's to her. "I never really expected that from you, to be completely honest." He admitted.

"That stuck-up British spoiled girl isn't me. That's what my mum wants me to be. I had to if I wanted a family who was proud and liked me. Ever since I was a child I always tried to impress them. Get some sort of approval from them. They were some of the hardest parents to impress so... that never actually happened. I never dreamed of disobeying them. I had to change myself for them and I didn't like it because I wanted to be me, not what they wanted me to be. Not that they ever listened to me. Whenever I would protest when I was younger, they would ask why I wasn't more like my brother. Why I had to be such a bother." At this point tears were rolling down her face. "I... I-" Natalie was interupted by Dan who cupped his face in his hands and whipped the tears away.

"That's fine. It's not your fault. You're fine, you're here. We won't let anything happen to you. I won't let anything happen to you." The whole time they looked into eachother's eyes and never looked away. The room would have been on fire and they would have never known.

Natalie closed her eyes and felt more tears roll down her face. Dan picked her up and put her next to him on his chair and she quietly sobbed next to him for what felt like forever.
