"Hey, Amy? What did you get for number 23?" Alexa started the conversation in hopes of being truthful.
"Ummm..."Amy said flipping through a small stack of papers. "I got Y-6=18x-4. I can't believe we got such easy homework. That's, like, eighth grade math."
"Well... it is the beginning of the year. And the beginning of this unit. It makes sense." Alexa defended."Just be happy we have easy homework." Alexa trailed off.
"Listen I need to talk to you... serious." Alexa said quietly.
"Why? Is everything okay?" Amy asked worriedly.
"Yes, yes. Everything's okay, just... I've kinda lied to you and I hope you can forgive me." Alexa said with true emotion in her voice.
"What lie, I don't understand..." Amy said emotion in her voice too.
"I know this might be hard to grasp you mind around, but, I'm a high level Janus." Alexa admitted, bracing herself for screaming and 'de-friending'. Instead she just heard silence. For a few moments neither of them spoke.
Alexa decided to break the silence, "Are you mad?"
"Well, start with the whole story, then I'll decide." Amy decided.
"Well, first of all, I was recruited as a spy for the Janus. They had me target you. They had suspected you were a Ekaterina, but they had no proof. That's where I came in. We thought you were just a really good liar. Little did we know that Cahill meant nothing more to you than it being your last name. After a while, I realized that I thought of you as a true friend, not just a fake one. I hope you can forgive me and still be my friend." Alexa said pleading to keep her best friend.
"Oh, that's all. I thought you were going to kill me or something. I'll do my research. But, I'm gonna have a hell of a time trying to keep this from Ian." Amy said.
"You can tell him. That's fine. I just wanted to tell you first, just you and me. That would be interesting if one of you was mad and one of you was totally fine with it. That would be an interesting script change! BTW, I'm obsessed with historical plays and books. I'm actually a descendant from Shakespeare's part of the family." Alexa explained quickly, as if she had planned what to say in advance.
"Whellsie, now that that's over with we can get back to homework, right?" Alexa questioned.
"No way, ever since the clue hunt I've been biting my tounge to not tell you stories and jokes about the clue hunt. Okay, so, back in Venice..." Amy started. The girls talked and laughed about their funny stories and crazy relatives until Dan barged in.
"You're mom's on the phone. She said that you're two hours late and that you're gonna be grounded for life if you're not home in ten minutes." Dan explained.
"Holy crap! Gotta run!" Alexa said to Amy as she grabbed her binder and ran out the door.
"Dan you won't believe what I just found out..."
