Dan walked in the dance with Alana right next to him. Dan instinctivelly looked through the crowd of people. He saw the targets talking with eachother off to the far side of the room. Natalie and Isaiah was on the opposite side of Dan and Alana. Natalie looked over to Dan and they were practically having a conversation via facial expression.
When should we try to get them?
Not now! Are you crazy?
Well not as crazy as you!
I'm not crazy, Daniel! If there is a crazy one here, it is you!
Let's just stop arguing and act normal before people start staring!
And with that they turnewd back to their dates.
"What was that all about?" Alana asked Dan as he looked back at her.
"Well, ever heard of sibbling rivalry? P.S. it's worse with cousins." Dan joked causing them both to laugh.
"So... I've never been to one of these. What do you do?" Alana asked, holding Dan's hand.
Dan froze. He had never had a serious girlfriend and he had never held a girls hand before other than Amy's. They all spent time listening to music and chatting and Natalie and Isaiah were doing the exact same thing. Dan glanced up at a clock on the wall. His stomach churned and he looked over at Natalie who was looking at her phone. Her head snapped up and looked at Dan. Dan slightly nodded and she did the same.
"Hey, I have to go ask Natalie about something. I think I have to go home, bye." Dan said and offered a small smile.
"Okay, bye." She said smiling back.
Dan walked away and he saw out of the corner of his eye Alana walk out the other entrance. Dan turned around to see Natalie a few feet away and she stopped when she got close enough so that they could talk but other people couldn't hear.
"Do you know what I found out about Isaiah and probably Alana? Since Isaiah can't lie and cannot hide his anxiotey, Isaiah and probably are in on this. I saw Alana and him exchanging glances every 120 seconds exactly. We need to fix this, I slipped a short-distance tracking device into Selena's shoe. They are over in the 7th grade hallway. Right now they are in Mrs.Hill's room. Should we contain them or what?" Natalie talked as if she was 15 years older, proffesional and cold.
No matter how many times he had heard that voice, he felt bad for Natalie. After all of this, she hadn't cryed at all accept for a stray, silent, tear every few days. Dan was brought back to reality when Natalie waved her hand in front of his face.
"Hey! Don't zone out! We have a mission to do." Natlie said sternly.
"Right, sleeping darts would be best. Where are the guns?" Dan asked, looking for some kind of purse that Natalie was hiding, but didn't see one.
Natalie leaned down and pulled a small tab on her wedges that opened up to a small dart gun no bigger than a small nerf-gun.
"Never underestemate girls with their excessories. We will always prove you wrong." Natalie said, smirking and reaching for her other shoe. She pulled another gun out of that wedge and handed Dan one.
"We should hurry, we don't know what Alana and Isaiah are going to do and who's side they're on. That means we are either out-numbered or we have backup, but I seriously doubt that they are on our team." Dan said sounding more sereous than anything since the clue hunt.
"Ready." Natalie said hopping up and starting to jog away.
