"Who are you? What's going on?!"
"Nicolae, could you please shut her up?
"So much work..."
"Nick!"
"What's going on!?
"It's called kidnap sweetheart; now let's just put you right back to sleep."
"Why-"
"You're being held captive in order for us to gain an advantage on the Blue Bloods. It would be greatly appreciated if you went back to sleep, not to mention much more pleasant for you," someone sitting next to me interrupts in a creepy calm voice.
"I'm not going to sleep! I'm not an idiot you know!"
"I'm Nikki!" The little kid sitting shotgun introduces randomly. "Tall-dark-and-scary behind you is Innie; Illy is driving; Churro is Mr.Sulky-pants next to Innie, and Crest is sitting next to you."
"Nice names," I retort. "And I'm not exactly okay with the idea of me getting kidnapped!"
"Too bad," Churro snaps.
"Such a cold response from someone with the name Churro," I respond.
"Why are you so mean?" Nikki asks, shrinking back from me.
"Oh, I don't know; maybe because you freaking kidnapped me!?!?" I scream.
"Please refrain from screaming within such an enclosed place as this. It causes us pain," Crest says, his voice never rising above a quiet murmur.
"Good!" I yell in his ear on purpose. I feel an ice cold hand constrciting my neck before I understand what's happening. Crest stares me dead in the eye as I try not to show how much pain I'm in.
"I have done my best to be polite. Do not tempt me to kill you because I will without an ounce of guilt nor a second thought. Understand?" he growls, his voice still somehow manaing to sound even.
"Let her go. A dead hostage is no hostage and a lot of hostility." Innie spoke. Crest releases me after a moment of hesitation. I glare at him, then stick out my tongue.
"Real mature." Churro comments.
"Maturity is overrated," I reply logically.
"Right?!" Nikki cries, bringing my attention back to him.
"You guys are really distracting," Illy informs.
"Suck it up, baby. You've driven through a hurricane while Churro sang to The A-Team," Nikki chided.
"You like that song?!" I gasp, turning to Churro.
"It's decent," he mutters.
"Why aren't you freaking out? You were angry, but not really crying your eyes out or throwing a temper tantrum," Illy asks, glancing at me from the rearview.
"As strange as it sounds, I've been through this before." I massage my temples. "Except last time I only had to deal with two kidnappers."
"That's not strange. It's sad and pathetic," Churro corrects.
"Do you have a stick up your ass or something?" I turn to him.
"Churro's on his man period," Illy answers for him.
"That explains it!" I exclaim. Churro makes a threatening move towards me. I return the motion. "Come at me, bro. I've got a defense mechanism that is far superior to any other."
"Someone seriously needs to shut her up or put her to sleep or something, because I swear I'm going to kill her." Churro sits back, though he seems to be strained.
"Hey, Innie, do you want to drive? Then I can focus on putting her to sleep or at least shutting her up." Illy pulls over to the side of the road.
"Don't call me that." Innie growls as he and Illy switch.
"You want me to use your real name?" Illy asks, taking Infinity's place.
"It doesn't matter."
"Okay. Yo, Princess, that's Infinity; I'm Illusion; anger issues is Century; Nicolae is Nikki, and Crest is Eventide." I sit there as the unusual names set in.
"Those are cool names," I finally respond. Eventide fixes me with a wary look.
"Even our own family says our names are weird," he informs.
"Well, I'm not your family," I snap.
"She has an odd name as well," Infinity reveals vaguely.
"Only possible way she wouldn't judge us," Century mutters.
"I like the nicknames! Princess, will you call them by the nicknames? Please?" Nicolae begs, his prepubescent hands locked together as he fixes me with his best pout face.
"I think Churro suits Century better anyway," I conclude.

"But New York City is so far," I moan, banging my head on the head support thing on the back of my seat.
"Can we please take a plane? Anything that works with her is only temporary. At most, ten minutes, and that's when she's trying to be hypnotized," Illusion complains.
"Maybe you should practice. Pheonix could hypnotize me just by looking me in the eye," I comment offhandedly.
Illusion fixes me with an evil eye. "It works on everybody else. Except those damn Shadows. Their minds are too abstract to focus on the hypnotism at all."
"I'm part Shadow, sort of...it's a long story that I'm going to suck at telling if given the chance," I shake my head.
"Just take something hard and hit her over the head. I can't take this girl," Century grinds out between gritted teeth.
"I love you too!"
"Hey, Princess?" Nicolae turns back to look at me.
"Hm?"
"Could you please be quieter? We're really tired."
"Okay," I respond obediently, smiling. Nicolae grins sleepily before turning back to face the windshield.
"There's no way," Century scoffs. I tip my head to the side, feigning innocence.
"Do not complain; enjoy the blissful silence." Eventide sighs contentedly. I stare at him with my most uncomfortable gaze.
"She's creeping on you, Crest." Illusion informs, leaning back against his seat with a grin.
"I realize this," he says as if it were the most obvious thing in the world even though his eyes are closed.
"You're not going to kill her?" Illusion's smile widens.
"Infinity told me not to."
