"I don't wanna go!" I protest, attempting to pull away from Century. Nicolae is too busy struggling away from Eventide to help me.
"Leave us to our happiness," he whines. Century glares at us, putting more strength into his jerking pulls.
"Will you guys give up already?!" Century gasps. I make a childish whining noise and claw at his hand to loosen his grip. "You're making a scene!"
"Go away!" Nicolae and I shout in unison. Century finally lets go, sending me toppling backwards into an older woman. She huffs, fixes her shirt, and walks around me.
"Ow!" I complain at Century. I catch sight of Eventide rolling his eyes at me and muster up my best glare. "You guys are mean!"
"How old is she? She's acting like a child!" The woman from before whispers to someone.
"I am sixteen years old. I'm allowed to act like a child. You're just jealous because you can't anymore," I accuse, standing up. Century picks me up and drapes me over his shoulder. I pound at his back angrily.
"Hey! You can't do that! Churro! Let me go!" I yell.
"If you keep yelling you'll be thrown out," he reminds nonchalantly. I grab fistfuls of his shirt to straighten my back, but his shirt ends up sliding back and not helping me sit up at all.
"This isn't very comfortable you know," I state with a pout on my face.
"Mommy! Look at that boy! He's wearing a girl as a backpack!" A little boy whispers loudly. I elbow Century on his spine, causing his head to whip around and his chin to hit my butt.
"Hey!" I exclaim, trying to claw my way up to glare at him.
"It's your fault!"
"Why would you turn your head towards my butt?! You've got another shoulder!"
"You don't really think much when your reflexes go into action!"
"But why would you have reflexes?! You're-"
"Shut up! Of course I have reflexes you numbskull!" He yells. Silence descends over the store. I grin.
"Nice going smartass," I comment under my breath.
"I should kill you."
"Innie would be mad," I remind cheerfully. "Let me down, I still haven't bought anything."
Century pauses. "Do you have anything on you?"
"No-"
"Then no."
"You're mean."
Century abruptly sets me on my feet with a pissed look on his face. "If you so much as leave my sight for a second I'll be sure to get Infinity here." My eyes widen in shock.
"Seriously?!" I squeal. He sighs, but nods.
"It's the least we could do."
"Yay! Come on!" I grab his wrist and tug him towards all the toys. There are stuffed animals the size of beds and stuffed animals the size of cats, and everything ranging in between. It's awesome.
I point to a semi-large panda bear that's twice the size of a pillow. "I want that."
Century gives me an odd look. "Then pick it up.." He says slowly. I roll my eyes.
"If I pick it up I won't be able to pick up anything else. I'm tiny-see?" I grin.. Century sighs and picks up the panda bear for me.
By the time I've finished picking out everything that I want, Century's hands are full with a huge stack of random stuff and I have to hold onto his arm the entire time to lead him back to the cash register and to assure him that I won't go running off. Nikki stands a little bit away from the line with Eventide, both of them looking put out.
