I don't know what wakes me up. It's only been a couple minutes since I fell asleep. Infinity has his arms curled around me, his breath blowing my hair out of place on each exhale. My head pounds, and my tongue is swollen and dry. Maybe it was the thirst that woke me.

Yawning, I carefully slip from Infinity's grasp and tiptoe from the room with my eyes hooded and practically blind.

I walk straight into a wall.

Oh yeah. Not at their New York place anymore. Not at home either. Their place in Austria.

Adjusting myself, I drag my feet down the hallway, hoping I remember where the dining room is and praying the kitchen is right off of it.

"Hilfreiche Kind, guide me to my destination," I beg under my breath, subconsciously calling upon one of the subgods of the Blue Bloods to help me instead of the Jewish god I had been taught to worship in my life with humans.

I find the dining room, but stop at the open door. A single candle is lit at the center of the table, illuminating Seren's face. He doesn't turn, but waves me over.

"Come now, sweetpea, don't dillydally. The longer you put this off, the more pain I'll put you in," he states matter-of-factly. I don't move. Seren moves at the speed of light, instantly in front of me. I stumble back in shock at his speed. "Ah, ah, ah, sweetpea. No running off!" He croons sweetly. Seren clutches me and bites into my neck, his fangs sinking deep into the flesh. My head is forced down into his shoulder. In the dark, an onlooker might think us sharing a sweet, intimate moment.

At least, for about two seconds. He pulls away almost immediately, looking puzzled. "You're a...but that makes no sense. It still hasn't reached midnight yet, and this morning you were human. You wouldn't have changed to Vampire by now," Seren begins to pace. "There's no way I'm wrong. You're Vampire. Odd-tasting for sure but definitely Vampire. But I also could control your movements this morning! Unless..." he turns to me, anger blazing in his eyes. "You little... you tricked me into believing you were human."

I don't speak, confused beyond words. I'm human. Whatever Seren is on, he needs to get his facts straight and sober up.

I see his fury growing, notice his arms going toward my neck, yet don't put the two together. I stand there in a stupor as Seren wraps his hands around my neck and begins to strangle me. Struggling for breath, I claw at his fingers. My scratches weaken as the lack of oxygen gets to me.

There's no warning for what happens next. My limbs are filled with renewed energy and strength, and my thoughts turn morbid and disturbing. This threat needs to die.

Now.

I twist his hand in a way that could never be natural. As he turns to protect his wrist from the inevitable, I grab his neck, pressing my fingers deeper into his flesh. His eyes bulge out of his head as I continue to squeeze and twist.

His wrist breaks, his neck bleeds, and an eye pops right out of the socket, leaving a bleeding mess on the right side of his face. Still, I do not let up. He isn't dead yet. I knee him in the stomach, using this momentary weakness as he struggles to regain air much like I was just a few moments ago to my advantage and pinning him down.

I raise my hands to smash his skull in when Infinity rounds the corner. Looking at him, everything I had just done to Seren disappeared into the foggy place of my Murderous State.

Looking down at Seren, I scramble off of him as quickly as possible. I couldn't have done that. I didn't! No, I'm not a killer. I don't do these sort of things.

Backing away from the maimed body, I stare wide-eyed into space in horror. I don't know what goes on during my Murderous State. I only know it's name and nature from a note I had written for myself. Something, maybe a werewolf, had broken in and attempted to kill Seren. Not me. Not...
