I woke up with Brisinger curled into my side. This had become a common thing since she had come down here. Burying my face into her hair, I tried to fall back asleep. Not knowing what is night and what is day can be disorienting after a while and being down here for over a month was messing up my sleep pattern. Brisinger slept like a baby every chance she got, she's around the same age as me and she is still so innocent, I don't want to even imagine the things she's been put through. She is one of the strongest creatures I know.
"Kitty?..." a sleepy voice next to me whispered.
"Yes sweetie?" looking down at her, I watched her eyes blink the sleep away.
"Are you going to leave soon?" finally looking up at me, I saw the raw sadness in her eyes. I hadn't thought about it lately, me having to leave her, but I wasn't going to go anywhere, the baby's were.
"I'm not going anywhere, don't worry," kissing her forehead, I curled back into the blankets.
"But you have to, you have to take care of the baby," there was panic in her voice, and I couldn't fathom why.
"The baby will make it to his father, I'm better off here. It's better for everyone if I stay here," the reassurance was more for myself than for her truthfully.
"But you're his mother, you have to be with him. We can get out of here, all three of us. Then I can meet your Mate and we can all be a big family and Kyle won't be able to get to us because Jake won't let him and.." I placed a finger to her lips.
"That sounds like a good plan, but look at what happened last time I tried to escape. Everything fell apart. I couldn't risk that with my baby.." tears stung my eyes at the thought of Kyle hurting my baby just to hurt me.
"I just want you to be happy.." snuggling against me, being careful of my belly, her eyes closed slowly.
"I am happy, as long as I know that all of you are alive," holding her close, I slipped into the worlds of dreams, with thoughts of a family dancing through.

"That might actually work," Brisinger beamed at the compliment. Her comment the other day had got me thinking and I finally gotten up the courage to say something to Jake. As soon as he thought that it was even possible for us all to escape, he got right down to the plans.
"We're going to have to act fast, before this baby is born. Or this could all go down hill," glancing at my stomach, I was painfully aware that I was 60 days into this pregnancy. 60 days, the baby was do to come any day now, any moment.
"Yes, yes, I know, but are you even remotely able to carry yourself? How is this going to work, you're so weak Kitten..." a light illuminated the darkness and Brisinger's hair lit on fire.
"This has to work, she has to get out of here, Kyle can't be able to hurt her anymore, or any of us. The baby needs a mother, and they can't stay here, so this has to work, one way or another," she was getting overly worked up, and if she kept this up she was going to start shooting fire. I gently placed my hand on her shoulder, the heat burning me slightly, but I didn't care.
"Shhh, it's alright, I promise, we'll figure this out, everything is going to be okay. We will get out of here," I had decided that the risks of Kyle trying to get me back weren't worth the lives of my child. I was going to get out of here and I was going to go back to Devin and hope he will take me back. We were going to ge a family if it was the last thing I did.
"You promise?" the fire was already starting to dim, meaning her frustration and anger were starting to fade.
"I promise," wrapping my arms around the small girl, I held her tight, well, as tight as I could. Over her shoulder, Jake was looking at me with sadness in his eyes. He knew the complications, the possibilities, the truth that the promise may never be able to be fulfilled. We both knew. But there was a possibility that I could keep my promise, and thats what I clung to.
