Chapter 17: Interruptions
Pushing me down so that I was fully laying on the couch, he ran his hands under my shirt and trailed butterfly kisses from the base of my neck to my waiting lips. The kiss was soft and sweet as his hands roamed over my sides and my fingers found themselves tangled in his golden hair. He tickled my sides ever so slightly, just enough to cause a giggle to part my lips enough for him to slide his tongue between them. My giggle was soon overtook by a moan as our tongues connected. Once we both desperately needed some air, he trailed light kisses back down the side of my neck, lightly nipping on his way, causing light laughs and whimpers to slip through my parted lips.
Bringing my shirt up just below the bottom of my bra, he kissed down my stomach down to the top of my jeans. His teeth grazed the sensitive spot right above where my jeans sat, causing me to buck my hips and let out a slight whimper. A dark chuckle came from him as he moved slowly down my thighs, alternating between nipping and biting down hard on the inside of my slightly parted legs.
The sound of the door opening made both of us jump. "I'm home!! If anyone cares, and Sam, if you are still here, get out," letting out a deep growl at his brother's voice, Devin got off the couch.
"Sam's not here, but I am," the look in his eyes kinda scared me.
"Oh, well, you can leave too," Dylan said nonchalantly, either not noticing the tone of his brother's voice or simply not caring.
"I'm not going to leave, but you may if you want to live through the rest of today," his shoulders stiffened looking like he was going to explode.
"Devin, come on, lets just go down stairs...." I laced my fingers with his trying to calm him down so that he didn't jump over the couch and kill Dylan.
"Oh hi Kitty," the taunting tone in Dylan's voice was evident, but I just ignored him. The thoughts of what Sam had said kept playing in my head and I was not going to lose Devin just because he wanted to kill his brother, it wasn't happening. Devin was frozen, locking eyes with Dylan, a staredown that said more than words could ever.
I stepped in front of him, blocking his view, "Please? For me?" he didn't seem to like it, but he looked at me and him guarded expression really hurt, but he turned around and headed towards the door to the basement. I followed in his tracks but found my path blocked by a cocky looking Dylan.
"I will finish what I started," pushing my hair back and looking at that side of my neck, he stepped closer, "and next time, I won't be so gentle." Then he was gone, leaving a bitter coldness in his wake.
I made my way down the stairs to find Devin pacing the floor. He looked frustrated as I went over to the bed and sat down. Picking up his pace, Devin simply looked at the floor as he wore a trail in the carpeting.
"De" I began, but he cut me off.
"How do you expect me to protect you when you won't let me?" there was a mix of frustration and desperation in his voice.
"How are you going to protect me if you get taken away from me?" I countered. He came to a stop and looked over at me. Patting the spot beside me, I opened my arms waiting for him to come over. Of course he did and I hugged him as I waited for the tention to leave his body. "Devin, you can't be taken away from me. Not only can I not handle it myself but my body can't handle it either. If you're away from me for too long, I'll get sick and eventually...."
"Wait, you never told me that!" he said in alarm looking at me like I was a piece of glass, ready to break at any second.
"I didn't tell you cause I didn't want you to worry about me, but since you seem to want to chance everything, I figured I would tell you what exactly you are chanceing," the words were harsh, but they needed to be said.
