CHAPTER 2: Hi, My Name Is....

The next morning I'm awakened by the shrill ringing of the small black box sitting on my night stand. I roll over and pull the soft comforter over my head, trying to block out that dreadful noise It just keeps getting louder. I groan in defeat as I roll back over and lay my hand hard on top of the small box to stop it from screaming. Sighing at the sweet silence that followed, I close my eyes in relief, then remember, I have to go to school today. The blankets fall off of my small frame as a scream of frustration breaks it's way out of my lungs. I can't believe I'm being made to do this, what is the point in school? No one pays attention anyways.

I slowly drag my tired body to the closet that I had put my close in just last night. Slipping off my PJ's and throwing them into the basket at the end of my bed. I pull out my black skinny jeans and a multicolored BOTDF shirt and put them on. I go over to the mirror hanging on the opposite wall and line my already deep brown eyes with black and stare at the girl in the mirror. She stares back, she knows she is nothing except a shadow of a girl who used to be, but she still tries to be seen, but i won't let her be seen, nothing good ever comes out of it. I grab my backpack off the chair in the corner and swing it over my shoulder. Well, another day is starting, and along with it, a new hell arises.

"Come on Kitty, we have to go or we will be late," by brother says as he taps on the door.

"I'm coming, I'm coming," I say with a sigh, well, might as well get this over with. I step out of the room and almost run straight into Jake. He's wearing a white shirt that accents his muscular frame and a pair of baggy jeans that hang a little off of his waist, his flat billed ACDC hat is tilted to the side. Which reminds me that i almost forgot my monster hat, I walk back into my room and take it off my dresser and place it on my thick, long, brown hair and pull it slightly down so my eyes are cast in shadow. I follow Jake down the stairs and start walking towards the door.

"Have a good day at school kids," my mother says as she walks towards us.

"Thanks mom," Jake says with a fake smile on his face.

"I'm surprised you even know who we are," I whisper, hoping she doesn't hear me, but she does.

"Wanna say that again?" she asks as she gets in my face.

I stand my ground and glare at her as i slowly say, "I'm surprised you even recognize us or remember we are your kids, as sad as that fact may be."

"I remember who you are, I'm not stupid," she says defensively.

"Oh yeah?" I ask challengingly, "what's my real name?" i ask looking her straight in the eyes, waiting patiently for her reply.

She thinks for a moment, obviously confused, then gets a determined look on her face as she looks back at me, "It's Kitty of course, duh," she says proudly,

"Wrong," i say and i watch as her face falls and she walks away in defeat. Once she is mainly out of earshot, me and Jake start laughing.

Jake looks at me with a genuine smile still laughing, "come on Kitty, that was a hard one, no one ever remembers your real name."

"It's not really that hard, have you forgot it?" I say playfully.

He pretends to think for a moment then says, "Rebecca Lynn."

I grimace at the sound of it, "correct, but never call me that again."

He just laugh again, "alright, now we seriously have to go to school," he says as he throws me the keys. I catch them and walk out to my car as it sits beautifully in the driveway, my dad had someone else follow the family car with mine so that we could all go on the trip together, so i really missed my baby. I checked it over to make sure it wasn't scratched, once i was satisfied I got into the driver's seat and started it up. I pulled out of the driveway and started towards the school with my twin giving me directions every 2 seconds.
