Chapter 11

Living in a peaceful life without any stumbling block seems to be boring. It's not that having some obstacles in life is complacent but it is what makes us pertinacious and courageous in everything we do. And in that case, the walls that we build won't break down easily.

"Kailan ba siya gigising? Ilang oras na siyang natutulog," boses 'yon ni Lixe na para bang nag-aalala.

Am I hallucinating? Aren't they having a meeting with the councilors?

"She's so wasted because of her wounds and bruises. Sayang at wala rito si Master Jyron para tingnan kung bakit ganyan karami ang natamo niya," Heaven answered as I heard her footsteps near me.

Bakit ganito? I can't open my eyes and my body hurts that I couldn't even make a single move. What is happening to me?

"Mukhang gising na yata ang tao niyong kaibigan. Though, she couldn't move nor open her eyes because of the magic that headmistress gave her."

W-What?! Why am I hearing Mavis voice? Is she also here? At anong spell ang tinutukoy na na dahilan kung bakit hindi ako makagalaw.

"Just stay still, Nia. I'll call her back."

I can hear their footsteps coming to my direction and I felt a cold tension touching my body. Ang mabibigat kong mga mata at naninigas na katawan ay parang bumalik sa dati. I immediately opened my eyes and moved my hands to make sure that I'm feeling well. Hindi na rin masakit ang katawan ko dahil siguro sa kakaibang kapangyarihan na naramdaman ko kanina.

"Hindi mo agad nagalaw ang katawan mo kanina dahil nasa ilalim ka ng kapangyarihan ko. I used my power to gain your strength again so that your wounds and bruises will heal immediately. Wala na bang masakit sa'yo?"

Umiling naman ako at ngumiti ng pilit."I'm okay now, headmistress. Thank you."

"No, thank you for what you did last night. I know that you don't have to save me but you did. Pinakita mong matapang ka kahit na wala kang abilidad at humanga ako sa'yo, Niane." Inayos niya ang takas ng buhok ko at saka naglakad palabas ng kwarto.

"Bravery, huh? So, nagpapakabayani ka na pala ngayon. But if not because of that stupid necklace of yours, you can't protect the headmistress and so as yourself. Ano nga ba talaga ang gusto mo at ginagawa mo 'to? To impress the vampires that you can protect anyone who's with you? How pathetic!" Nawala ang ngiti ko dahil sa sinabi ni Mavis.

"Mavis, ano ba?! Kung wala kang sasabihing maganda, umalis ka na lang pwede?" Heaven hissed at her.

"Don't you dare to shout at me, Heaven. Baka nakakalimutan mong mas mataas ang ranggo ko kaysa sa'yo!"

I immediately stood up from my bed to stop them from arguing. Baka may makakita sa kanila at ma-issue sila sa buong Academy. And if it happens, it's all because of me.

Ako naman palagi ang dahilan eh.

"Tama na, 'wag na kayong magsagutan. Mavis, it's not my fault if the black vampires attacked the Academy. Wala naman akong masamang ginagawa, ah. And I'm not pretending to be strong and brave. Of course, I was afraid to do that but I'm more afraid if they could get our headmistress. Nalaman kong malakas din sila kaya pa'no kung nakuha talaga siya at wala man lang akong ginawa?! Sasabihin niyo na naman na kasalanan ko ang nangyari kase wala akong silbi?!" Pinigilan ko ang sarili kong umiyak pero nagawa niya pa akong tawanan.

"Do you think that's enough? Ang sabihin mo, gusto mo lang ng atensyon kaya nagpapa-impress ka. But whatever you do, you can't get the trust of all the vampires here. That is why you're targeting the headmistress as your first victim." Dinuro niya pa ako saka tinulak ang noo ko.
