Bad Dreams -

After taking Gibbis home the console room was quiet as everyone was caught up with their thoughts. Casting a glance between the Oracle and her parents the Doctor decided to speak up in Gallifreyan so the two wouldn't draw conclusions and ask uncomfortable questions.

"Can we talk about that?"

All three looked up confused and the Oracle gulped and answered in the same language, "What's there to talk about?"

He just gave her another meaningful look and she cleared her throat before turning to her parents, "Hey, would you mind leaving us alone for a moment?"

After a worrisome look, Rory nodded and took Amy's hand to pull her away to their room. When they were sure they didn't hear them anymore the Doctor spoke up.

"I thought we were over it."

"Over it? We were over fighting about it. Don't tell me you were actually over it", she asked angrily.

"Of course not. I just told myself you'd forgiven me and then your worst nightmare was me", he told her exasperatedly.

"Not you", she raised her voice slightly before lowering it again, "I- I love you and I never could have dealt with what happened if I hadn't had you. But that doesn't change the fact that you played a pivotal role in that."

"You know I did my best not to", he looked down.

"I know. I know, that's why it's not you. I can't believe you went into my room and the only thing you noticed was yourself", she crossed her arms defensively.

"It wasn't. I mean, obviously the-", he tried to find a less gruesome way to put it, "The main part of it was going to be in there, I should have known."

"My fear was losing them. Always has been, obviously. And with Astrid, it always will be. What did you expect? That I was scared of you?"

"No. I mean, a little, maybe", he admitted, running a hand through his hair before crossing his arms defensively.

She analysed his stance and realised something, "Oh stars, it was you. The man in your room, that was you."

"You shouldn't have seen that."

"Neither should you. You're your own biggest nightmare?", she asked and stepped forward reaching out with the intention to comfort him.

"Can we not talk about that?"

"You asked me if we could talk about that, it's why we sent Amy and Rory to their room", she tried to find his eyes but he avoided her, "You didn't fall back onto your faith."

"My faith?", he asked, finally looking at her.

"Well?", she gave him a meaningful glance.

"I know", he smiled slightly, "Yeah, I know our faith but all my life you told me not to do that."

"Did I save your life today?", she smiled smugly.

"Because you told me not to praise you as a goddess", he chuckled.

"You don't praise me as a goddess?", she asked in pretend shock.

He laughed and pulled her close, "Of course I do. But not like that."

"I don't want to be your religion", she admitted cheekily.

"Good. You're not. You're my wife. You're the most important thing in my life and I couldn't cope without you. I also couldn't cope with sharing you, just because you actually are a goddess."
