🖤💜: The moment the world stops and takes a breathe; lingering in the juxtaposition of past and future 💜🖤

----------

It's the white plastered walls again.

The smell of chlorine in the air; the turquoise blue curtains; clatter of saline stands; the buzzing sound of OR alarm; the beeping heart monitor and the different coloured people in monochrome attire.

For a brief few seconds, the flow of time stopped as Taehyung stood in front of the reception desk, his senses picking up the familiar borderline emotions in the literal gateway to heaven/hell; consuming him from all directions. His feet stayed glued to the floor as the reality took him back several years ago when he lost his piece of heart; when the memories of the live saving means contrastingly intertwined with the deepest scar in his soul.

Some people were grieving the death of their loved ones, some people were rejoicing their recovery and some were sitting on nails anticipating the outcome from the hands of God.

He was here again; with another piece of his heart struggling against death on the trauma section.

"Excuse me? Are you a family member of Mr. Seokjin Kim?"

Taehyung looked at the nurse blankly. The civil police who brought him here, answered the question for him. She left and the uniformed man guided him in the waiting section, leaving too afterwards.

He didn't know how he was so solemn. For someone who reacts solely responding to his emotions, he was frighteningly calm despite the hellfire rising inside him.

His eyes fell on the old lady sitting at the opposite chair, quietly wiping tears from the corners of her eyes. He stared at her shamelessly; not even bothering if he was making her uncomfortable.

His brain had stopped working long ago.

The last thing he remembers is sitting on the floor, leaning on the bed foot and talking on phone. It was Sun, right?

Right.

Then he might have fallen asleep. He can't remember how long he was passed out, but after that the phone call came, informing him about the accident.

Or, Attack.

So their fear turned out to be right after all.

Lowering his head, Taehyung rested it on his palms. It has really happened, hasn't it? His brother is really lying in the hospital bed, his dad is really in the rehab and destroying everything, his financial condition is really broke, his mother is really dead, his life is really empty. Then why is it so hard to believe in all these?

If he's left alone in this world today, if God has his plans for him like this; he will give up on his life too.

Taehyung felt his throat being strangled. He stopped breathing.

"Family of Seokjin Kim?"

Taehyung shot his bloody red eyes up, seeing a junior doctor calling him. He must be an intern. He swiftly got up in silence and went to him, trying to force something out of his burning throat, but nothing came out.

"Are you his brother?" The doctor looked at him weirdly; not understanding the expression he was wearing.

"Y-yeah, I'm... "

"Look, your brother was stabbed with a sharp object; one wound in the abdominal region and another one in his thighs. He has lost a lot of blood... "

"Did he hurt any artery?"

The young doctor looked at him sharply for a second and then explained, "He has injury in his right renal pyramids but it's not that lethal. What's concerning now is the tear in his femoral artery. It's operable but considering the time it took for him to arrive here.... "
