Love.If that's what it's supposed to feels like, then maybe she doesn't want to be loved.
The deathly silence from the other side of the door was speaking to her in more than just solemnity. Every sickening twist in her guts was reminding her of dreadfulness, consternation and sheer disgust. After words exhausted, she kept pleading with just her tears; but there wasn't anyone to witness that. She sat there like a greek marble sculpture, her head leaning on the door and the unstoppable stream across her cheekbone.
It won't take her a single moment to break the wooden door and get inside, but she couldn't move her body. Being there, at that close proximity yet miles away, all she could do was think; whether it was a mistake with dire consequences.
There is no way back now.
Dead.
That's what he addressed her as. And currently she isn't feeling any humane than that, possibly even worse.

4 hours earlier.........
"You know your friend can provide a better company to you at a time like this." Yoongi fidgeted with his iced americano.
"Not really." Sun stuffed the rest of her ninth burger into her mouth. "I will start talking shit and Reb will just try to be a good friend. And then I will be more confused and.... "
"Okay okay. Lets stop there."
"But, if you think about it... "
"Stop."
"See this is why I needed you. You're just a hammer in my head whenever I overthink things. But am I really overthinking? I don't... "
"SUN!"
"Yeah."
Sun chewed on her food with chipmunk cheeks and stared outside. The midnight blue curtain was draped on earth, the Thursday firmament devoid of any stars. There was only two hours till the sky was about to fall on her head and if Sun is honest to herself, she has let it go.
Even though the street was bustling with people and vehicle; it looked awfully dead in her eyes. As if a colony of ants was crawling over a deceased, rotten animal body. Life was there, just existing, not throbbing.
Now that her fate brought her where she is right now, there aren't any options left at her plate, except for being honest. After the encounter with him at the wedding venue; taken further to his home, Sun has spent a lot of time contemplating her emotions. Both of them have moved on in their lives to a level where catching up from where they left off is impossible. So the fairytale whimsy was out of the question. Even if they were true to their feelings that night, there are a lot of unresolved conflicts. The rust needs to be rubbed off with a lot of patience and discretion; taking time as well as effort.
Unbeknownst to him, Sun has paid him a couple of visits. She has observed him from behind a glass door in hospital, where he flipped through the pages of patient's charts, his coffee irises gleaming with the power of wisdom. She has observed him, sitting from the window pane of his room, while he hugged the side pillow; his chest heaving up and down on white silk sheets in nourishing tranquil sleep. It had taken her back seven years ago when the boy gifted his submission to her, something that needs to be masterfully taken; yet she had failed him miserably. There was no way to get it back, she knows it. But her love for him, and he himself was worth breaking her heart a thousand times, and many more.
So be it.
Her tears were burnt off of her face, not even the traces were left. All she can do is be truthful and just get it over with.
