«Oh Oh Chéri
Oui, j'aime tout ce que tu fais
Oh Oh Même quand tu fais rien
Moi, ça me plaît»...
Rebecca was still half asleep when she got up in the morning. It was 2 am when she went to bed. Yet couldn't sleep until 3 o'clock because all the emotions running through her veins and floating around her room.
She literally had nothing to do that day, it was Sunday, but she didn't want to be in bed either, so forced herself to get up and have a coffee to wake up completely.
Any other day in, another time in her life she would put something on Netflix or YouTube to make background noise. Now she could only turn on the radio and listen what the BBC had to offered. Which, in that very morning was classical music, a Sergei Prokofiev piece from Romeo and Juliet ballet. Melody she heard while waited for the coffee maker to be done.
A huge benefit of having a job and it was profitable was undoubtedly the pay, in that way she didn't have to depend on the kindness of Jane and with her first pay she'd been able to:
1) Pay that month's rent
2) Buy more clothes, makeup, and books
3) Buy almost all kitchen appliancesAnd that gave her some peace of mind. Making her smile while she was pouring the coffee in her favourite mug.
She was leaning against the sink cabinet with both hands holding her cup, sipping it when a good-looking boy showed up through the door frame.
"Good morning, Miss Vera" Paul greeted her with a slight nod and a shy smile.
"No better than yours, Paul. I'm sure," she laughed cheerfully. "Coffee?" she raised her eyebrows as offered it.
"Huh, yes, please" his smile widened but was visibly embarrassed as he took the cup the girl handed him. "Ta,"
There was a somewhat awkward silence. Both drank their coffees, enjoying the taste and warmth. Paul's gaze drifted to the small table inside the kitchen where several books and magazines were laying and caught his attention.
"Those are yours?" The man asked frowning as he read what they were about, it wasn't the kind of thing that usually Jane would read.
Becca nodded, tilting her head. "Hmm, kinda"
The boy reached out to take one in his hands, examining it as if was something from out of space. Rebecca hadn't noticed until now that the man in front of her was already clean and changed with fresh clothes.
"So ye' like math?" he gave Rebecca an odd look and turned his gaze to her book to peek through it.
"Of course not! I'm a designer, remember? Fuck math!"
"So why do you have so many? It has only numbers and letters mixed!"
Before Rebecca could respond, Jane came into the kitchen to join them putting on some earrings meanwhile.
"Gosh! There you are! I thought you would never come home!" The redhead said with a worried tone to Becca.
"Aww don't worry dear. She was in good hands" Paul replied with a playful smile on his lips as he winked. Completely forgetting about the book.
The brunette rolled her eyes as she denied and took another sip of the coffee.
"When I arrived, you were already fast asleep. And who wouldn't? After that generous physical exercise." She joke making them blush. "Do you want coffee?" offered again.
