To the surprise of both, those days together passed quickly, they had been incredibly happy and like all good things, one day it had to end.

And soon farewells came.

The band had to return to their duties and responsibilities as the sweethearts of the world they were. Also, there was no opportunity to say much or rather nothing, though, Rebecca made sure to send a letter to the boy's office before they left London, in which she wished who she considered her boy an excellent tour and the best wishes she could have for him, even being way too sentimental than she would've liked.

Unfortunately for her, her birthday was the day they left, staying alone to celebrate with Jane and the other Beatle girls. Cynthia brought little Julian and Mo with her, Jane made sure the wine and appetizers were on point and Jo brought the greatest moist chocolate cake for the birthday girl. Rebecca was surprised when even Brian Epstein himself sent her a bouquet of peonies wishing a nice birthday. She also received some other gifts such as a couple of books, a few dresses, and a journal.

22nd birthday, checked.

Becca was grateful even though many important people to her weren't there, all her new pals were with her in one way or another. She was fine with that. She received congratulations from all the boys and a special and lovely one from George early morning on her birthday.

And after that nothing...

She thought perhaps it'd been just few days to hear from George and she really didn't know where to contact him because he was going from city to city. Even though Paul kept talking to Jane practically every day and sending letters and postcards to her. Maybe a couple of days more and he will write.

Roughly each day when she returned from work, Jane was stuck to the phone with her boyfriend and a silly smile on her face. Becca for her part was checking their post to see if something was for her, but she never found anything. And she only received the bassist's greetings and the others through Jane.

One day she decided to call the hotel where she knew they were staying thanks to the gossip between Paul and Jane, but she just hung up freaking out. She couldn't do it, even if she was biting her nails to.

Two whole weeks and still nothing, not even a stupid postcard. At this point she no longer bothered to check the mail on her own and avoided listening Jane on the phone because it annoyed her.

What had she done wrong? Why so much indifference? She thought there was something special between them and that was the problem. She thought. There was no fact to prove it. Unlike Jane and Paul, Cyn and John, or Mo and Ringo, she had nothing with George.

And it's not like it bothered her whether it was serious or not, because she knew a relationship with him wasn't viable, she was just disappointed that she couldn't even have their friendship. Time always reveals what you mean to someone.
