"If you don't get a ring with this, I really don't know what else will make you get it" Jane mentioned with wide eyes as she saw the pieces made for Rebecca as swimsuits and that just arrived.

Rebecca only laughed at the nonsense of her favourite redhead.

"Oh no Jane, I'm not expecting a proposal! Can you imagine? Certainly, I don't," the brunette girl commented with a sure tone.

"Well, the bloke already suggested you move in together, I wouldn't be surprised," Jane remarked, re-examining the ready-made pieces cautiously. Deep down she liked them, but her family certainly wouldn't.

"And I haven't given an answer to that," Becca pointed out. "I'm kinda scared, I don't know... You'll see, I like being here, my space, my things, also, I know isn't like that but maybe because George's background, I'm not sure... what if one day he tells me to stop working. I understand is how he was raised, but..."

"Pfff, don't even tell me," Jane sighed wearily rolling her pretty green eyes. "I know they're good chaps, but... Paul is exactly like you said, I can't count how many times we've fought about it." Her voice had a trace of sadness. "I don't know what's his problem with, that I have my career, my own dreams... y'know, Beck," she confessed with melancholy. "Is there something wrong with it? That I want to be Jane Asher and not just Paul McCartney's girlfriend? I really love him, but he..." she sighed again, almost speaking to herself.

Rebecca looked at her with empathy and sat next to her in the couch they bought together, then stopped to analysed their flat for a moment and everything they built together, how they decorated it, how both laughed, the photos they share and all beautiful moments they spent there. Jane supported her like no one else, and yet she didn't know her biggest secret.

"Maybe not the best advice, Asher... but no man is worth putting your dreams aside, trust me. If that person doesn't support who you are, then it's not there. You are supposed to be with someone to grow together, to inspire to be a better person every day and motivate each other." Rebecca said touching Jane's thigh and staring fondly at her.

Jane was younger than Rebecca, despite the fact many times the posh girl took the "mature one" role, Becca knew deep down she was just a young girl, the most noble and precious in the county, but vulnerable and in love.

Paul did love her, but he kept screwing up with every woman he laid eyes on. He might be a good man, but Jane was just as cool as he was, and she glowed with her own splendour. Rebecca knew how the whole thing between them was going to end, but she couldn't do more than be there for her best friend to always support her and encourage Jane to become a strong and independent woman way more than she already was.

The redhead just looked at her with eyes shining from the tears beginning to form, and she smiled weakly.

"McCartney would be an idiot if he let you go. But if he does, you aren't the one who loses, believe me" Becca said staring at the ginger encouraging her with a tap with a shoulder.

"Oh, Vera ..." Jane squealed letting out a couple of tears as she giggled. "I don't know what I would do without you, if you move to Esher"

"Probably... Sleep with Paul on our gorgeous couch," Becca joked, laughing out loud and making Jane giggle with crystallized eyes. "Don't worry, silly. You're not going to get rid of me so easily," the one with brown hair assured her. "Now be a good friend and help me pack before I end up crying"
