The Black Leaf (Part 2)

Chapter 21: Itachi

We ran until almost dawn, I was exhausted but I wanted to continue. Naruto's clone thought I would be wise to wait for the real Naruto to catch up.

"Why do you want to go see Itachi and not Kakashi-sensei?" Naruto asked me looking a little suspicious/

I looked at him and took a deep breath, "are you sure you want to hear it?" I asked and he sat right in front of me giving me all his attention. So I told him everything, I started telling him about my family, then how I was adopted by Shisui's family. I told him about my friendship with Itachi since when we were kids. I told him all about the Uchiha's massacre. I also mentioned how I became a Black Leaf, and when I joined Kakashi's teams. Then, I told him about the mission that went wrong and all about my two years with Itachi but he already knew that part.

Naruto's shadow clone listened attentively to everything I said. When I was done talking, he looked at me puzzled. "So, your marriage is just a lie?" he asked, "Kakashi-sensei loves you, you don't love him?"

"No, Naruto, our marriage is very real. I would give my life for Kakashi without hesitation, he makes me genuinely happy." I said looking straight into his eyes, "I married my best friend, and even though this child is not his, he loves him deeply. I will always be eternally grateful to him and intend to do everything to make him happy."

"But you love Itachi more?" he asked in a low voice.

"You better than anyone know that we don't choose who we fall in love with." I told him and he nodded, "I loved Itachi, but he is dead, and I am married to Kakashi now."

"Sensei seems so much happy with you around, please don't break his heart," Naruto pleaded.

"I promise you, on my life that I will only make him happy," I told him and he smiled.

"They are close," he said looking over the hill. "I will take you to Itachi, but you have to leave for the village right after please. If something happens to you, sensei will definitely kill me."

"Of course, please watch over him," I asked him and he nodded.

Once the real Naruto and Killer Bee caught up, we started running again. Less than an hour later I started sensing Itachi's chakra, "he is close."

"This way Naruto," said and leaping off the trees and there he was walking with another man. He was supporting the other man as they walked. "Itachi Uchiha and Nagato wait," Naruto yelled after them, and I just froze when I saw him turned around.

There were cracks on his face, like if his pale skin was made of porcelain. His eyes were black and only his Sharingan was visible. He wore a red robe and his usual black clothes under it. I could see him looking straight at me and soft smile appeared on his face.

"There she is," the man standing next to Itachi said.

"Yeah," he said, "why are you here Izumi? it is dangerous."

The air left my lungs when I heard his deep voice. I felt my knees shake, and my whole-body tremble. Never in a million years I thought I was going to be in front of him again, hearing his voice. Tears left my eyes as I started walking towards him. I opened my mouth to talk but no words would come out.

"Don't get any closer, Izumi, I don't want to hurt you. We are not in control of our actions." He said raising his hand.

"She wants to talk to you," Naruto said, "and I have a few questions to ask yo-"

Before Naruto finished talking Itachi send a giant fireball our way. I immediately did multiple mud walls to stop the fire. It was only a distraction since Itachi attacked Naruto from above.
