Chapter 24: Infinite Tsukuyomi

I was in bed, and I could hear my mother's voice, "Izumi, you are going to be late, the boys are here already." She said opening the blinds to my room, "you shouldn't be staying up too late with that boy."

"Five more minutes," I said burying my head in the pillow.

"Your father and brother are waiting for you to eat breakfast," she said before walking out.

I got up and went to take a shower. As I was getting dressed, I felt like if I was missing something. I looked down to my flat stomach and frown, "this weird feeling," I whispered. I got ready and put on my new uniform, I ran quickly downstairs, and my father and brother were waiting for me.

"You make me so proud Izumi," he said looking at me, "my little girl, Lead Captain of the Uchiha Police, you will be working right under Fugaku himself."

"Thank you, dad," I said giving him a hug, "I will make you proud."

"Yeah, big sister, just watch in a few years I will take that spot from you," Haru said.

"Come eat, the ceremony will begin soon," my mother said, and I followed her to the kitchen. I ate fast, brushed my teeth, and ran to the door.

"I'll see you guys there," I said looking at myself one last time in the mirror.

I open the door and saw Shisui and Itachi waiting for me outside, something inside me was so happy to see them. "Ready captain?" Itachi asked and I nodded.

"You know you could have gotten that position," I told him.

"What makes you think I want to work with my father?" he said frowning, "plus I like the secrecy of the AMBU."

"Well, if you decided to come and join us, we will be happy, huh Shisui?" I said looking at Shisui who was playing with a kunai.

"Yeah, maybe we can find him a janitor position," Shisui joked, "since he is too cool to take the one of captain."

Shisui and I joined the police after we left the AMBU. Today we were being promoted to Captains. We got to the police quarters, and I started looking around, not sure what or who I was looking for. I caught a glimpse of Sasuke who smiled at me, and I smiled back. There wasn't a lot of people in the crowd, it was going to be a quick ceremony to introduce the new members and the promoted members. Fugaku started the ceremony which followed by a speech of the Fourth Hokage. I keep searching in the crowd for someone, but I wasn't sure for who.

Shisui tapped my shoulder and leaned close to me, "You know he is always late," he whispered me, "he'll be here."

I looked at him a little confused, who should be here and why do I feel like something is off. I looked in the back of the crowd and there he was looking directly at me. The silvered-haired man was leaning against a tree. Wearing his jonin uniform because he was always on duty. His headband covering his left eye, and his mask covering the bottom of his face. I couldn't help but smile and blushed. I felt happy to see him, more than happy I felt sensation in my chest that only made my heart beat faster.

Once the ceremony was over, I walked towards him and he meet me half ways, "Congratulations Captain," he said giving me a tight hug.

"Thank you," I replied hugging him back, he let me go as my mother and father approach us.

"Congratulation Izumi," my mother said and gave me hug, then my father.

"Kakashi, how are you?" my father asked him, "how is your father?"

"I'm fine sir, thank you and he is well too, on a mission right now," Kakashi replied politely.

"Well, we'll see you home Izumi, you too Kakashi," my mother said before leaving.
