Four days later, I was dismissed from the hospital and was under Kakashi's supervision. I was giving a jonin uniform to wear since the clothes I was wearing were taken for evidence. I was hesitant to wear it but decided to put in on regardless. We were signing the papers of dismissal when we got summoned by the Hokage. Kakashi and I walked towards the exit, and I stopped right at the door. I am back at the Leaf, I thought. For some reason I didn't feel happy, something inside me felt strange, like if I didn't belong here.
Kakashi turned to look at a me, "ready?" he asked, and I nodded but I was still hesitant to step outside. He took a step and turned back to look at me once more, "come on, it will be okay," he said holding out his hand for me. I looked at his hand, took a deep breath and took it.
Anko's POV
I got home from my mission and went to report to the Hokage, once I was out, I saw Asuma walking up the stairs. "Hey Asu, how's Kurenai?" I asked him
"Hey Anko, I actually just left her at the tea house in the corner," he said with a smile.
"Oh perfect, I'm gonna go meet her then," I told him and kept walking. I walked down the street and I saw Kurenai seating with Genma and Hana. "Hey," I said and Hana and Kurenai looked at me worried, "what's with the long faces?" I asked.
"Something's happened Anko," Kurenai said.
"You are not going to be happy," Genma said with a smirk on his face.
"Well, what is it?" I asked them and Genma pointed behind me towards the street. I turned and saw Kakashi walking down the street with a familiar woman. I knew who she was, I thought, I seen her before, but where? Then it all hit me when I saw her looking at my direction, it was her, Yami. "How?" I said, "how the hell is she still alive?" I raised my voice and looked at everyone in seating on the table.
"Nobody knows, she randomly appeared last week outside the village, Kakashi found her," Kurenai said.
"She has been gone for more than two years," I shouted, "why the hell would she come back?"
"Anko, you know Kakashi is not romantically interested in you," Genma said. "I told you, this little game, you two were playing, was only going to hurt you."
"Genma shut up," I said furiously, "you know nothing."
"I know he only has eyes for one girl, and that is Yami," Genma said looking at them. "The morning before Yams and I left for the Hidden Valley Village, I saw them together. If she hadn't disappeared, they probably would be married and with kids by now." Hana elbowed Genma in the ribs. I look back at Yami and Kakashi, I couldn't lose Kakashi not after all this time, I thought.
Izumi's POV
I sensed a lot of eyes on me, I looked straight towards the main building ignoring them. But suddenly I felt a strange sensation, I looked toward the Tea house on my right, and I saw her, Anko's eyes widened when she saw me. She glared daggers my way and I automatically realized what was happening, "Kakashi?" I whispered.
"Uhmm," he hummed still looking forward.
"People are watching," I told him.
"Aren't they always," he stopped walking and looked down at me, giving me his typically closed eyed smile. "That's all people do, then they go talk all kinds of nonsense after."
I just smiled, "yeah I guess you are right, but if I end up death on a ditch, just know that Anko might have something to do with it." He looked at me confused then looked up towards the Tea house.
"No worries, she knows her place," he said, walking forward pulling me along with him.
"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked him confused.
