Chapter 34: The Last Mission

Four years passed after Ichiro found out about Itachi. It took him a while to process all the information but soon after he was back to normal.

He continued helping Sasuke with his missions as they found more information and temples about Kaguya. He would come home often now that he learned how to use the crows for transportation.

Kaori was now eleven years old and she was beautiful and kind. Her Sharingan was now fully developed and she would use it to copy and master a lot of jutsus. Just like Kakashi once did. Kakashi and I taught her and Ichiro everything we knew. I was proud of both of them and I knew it that if one day either me or Kakashi were to die, they would be fine because they had each other.

I was seating on the porch looking at both Ichiro and Kaori spar in the front yard. They were going at it, Kaori was keeping up with her brother who was going easy on her. Ichiro loved to make her feel like she had the upper hand just beat her at the end. Ichiro kicked Kaori and she fell on her knees then the unexpected happened, a shadow clone. Kaori appeared behind her brother with kunai in hand and pressed it on his neck. I laughed mainly at Ichiro's face, "she got you Ichiro," I said.

"But when?" Ichiro asked still confused.

"She finally got him," Kakashi said from the door way, "and he didn't even saw it coming."

"Dad, mom, did you see that? I beat big brother," she was so happy, "I finally did it."

"That was good move, Ori," Ichiro said giving her a high five.

"Are you ready?" Kakashi asked and I nodded.

"Alright you two, don't train too hard, we will be back later." I looked at Kakashi and we walked together to the Hokage building. Kakashi worked mainly as council member and top advisor to Naruto.

I still worked helping Sai with the AMBU management and I also helped Naruto assigning missions. I just couldn't stay home, I retired for a week and I couldn't handle it, so I went back to work. But lately I was regretting my decision, I hated leaving my family behind every morning. Kakashi on the other hand was enjoying his retirement to the fullest.

Once in the meeting room, Naruto told us that Five Kage agreed to send someone over to the Land of Ice. They wanted to convince its new ruler to join the Five Great Nations or get out of their way. Naruto asked Kakashi if he could go in his place, due to Kakashi being acquaintance with the woman in charged. Kakashi looked at me and sighed. "I'll go with you," I volunteered with a smile, "our very last mission, just like the old days."

"Fine," Kakashi agreed, "we leave tomorrow then."

After meeting with Naruto, Kakashi and I went to the meadows for a while. "Are you tired?" Kakashi asked as he rubbed my shoulders.

"I think I'm ready to retire," I said as I leaned back on his chest.

"Really? what happened to 'I'll wait until I am 40'?" Kakashi asked with a smile.

"I can't wait two more years," I turned to look at him over my shoulder. "I'm ready to wake up late, every day with you by my side. I'm ready to travel around all the Five Great nations and go eat dango and ramen on every food stand we find."

He smiled and hugged me tight, "well we can start as soon as we get back from our last mission."

"Yeah, I can't wait," I said and turned to look at him. "Come on Kakashi let's change, we are too old to be having sex in the meadow."

"Oh come on, forties are the new twenties," he said seating up. We changed and when we were about to leave I looked around the meadow.

"I love this place," I told him,"it brings so many memories."
