The Black Leaf (Part 2)

Chapter 28: Jealousy

Working alongside Kakashi was fun and we spend a lot of time together. I made us arm bands with the Uchiha Hatake crest like my necklace, and we both wore them on our arms. I also started wearing the same assembled crests on some of my dresses and shirts. Kakashi worked a lot and I tried to help as much as I could. We also traveled a lot due to him being the Hokage. Sometimes we took Ichiro with us, other times Naruto or Sakura would watch over him. Sasuke had been gone for more than a year now and even though he would send his hawk to check in, we didn't know exactly where he was. Naruto was getting married to Hinata, and because Naruto was the war hero, Kakashi was in charged to oversee the preparations. I was in charge of meeting with Hinata and Naruto to go over the details. It was exciting but very stressful, I also send multiple owls to Sasuke to remind him about the weeding but there was no response. The day was coming up and there was so much to do.

"Izumi can you make sure the Raikage and his guard make it to their hotel, they should be arriving to the gate any time now," Kakashi told me and I nodded. "Shikamaru, can you get Gaara, and his guard situated as well. And Yamat-"

"Kakashi, you realize that Darui is the guard of the Raikage, right," Tenzo interrupted Kakashi and I rolled my eyes. "He is been flirting with your wife since way before the war."

Kakashi stopped writing on his notes and looked at Tenzo then he looked at me, "I am aware that many men find my wife attractive." He said looking at me making blush slightly, "who wouldn't? she is beautiful."

"Tenzo, you don't need to worry, I can defend myself," I said walking behind him and looking straight at Kakashi giving him a devious smile. "Even from such a good-looking man like Darui." I heard Shikamaru chuckled and Tenzo sighed annoyed, but Kakashi never took his eyes of me.

"Tenzo go get the list of the shinobi who will help guard the village tomorrow night." Kakashi said turning to Shikamaru, "Shikamaru, Gaara should be coming soon, go make sure everything is ready for their arrival." Then he turned to face me, "I will accompany my wife to welcome the Raikage."

"So, you think Darui is good looking," he asked when Shikamaru and Tenzo left the room.

"The lengths I have to go to get your attention," I said walking towards him behind his desk.

"I know I been so busy Izumi," he started but I stop him as I sat on his lap. I pulled his mask down and kissed his lips softly.

"Sorry, but..." I whispered on his lips, "I miss you."

He immediately wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. "I miss you too," he said brushing my lips before kissing them. Our kiss got heated fast but was interrupted by Iruka knocking on the door.

"I'm so sorry," he said looking away, "the door was open."

I got up right away and looked out the window in embarrassment. "I'll come back, later," he said leaving and closing the door behind him. 

I looked at Kakashi and we both laughed. "He had a crush on you, you know" Kakashi said pointing at the door, "but then again who didn't."

"Let's go, the Raikage and his guard are almost here," I said pulling his hand and walking out the door. We walked the main street straight to the main Gate. We got there and they were still nowhere to be seen, so I sat on the bench and patted the spot next to me. Kakashi sat down and tilted his head back, I could tell he was tired.

I leaned closer to his ear, "If you get home early today, I will give you the best massage ever." I whispered and I could see the outline of his smile under the mask. He leaned over my shoulder and closed his eyes, soon I felt his breathing even out. I caressed his face with my fingertips slightly and he sighed loudly.
