When the police got to the scene no one was in the house. They probably ran, nothing was stolen though. I know I heard someone but why would anyone believe an eleven year old girl with only one friend and parent around her. I sound like an attention seeker, even mum thought so. They let me off with a warning, saying not to call the police for pranks.
I wasn't lying though...
Tyler wanted to believe me but found it hard because I laughed as soon as I got in his house. I fucking laughed. Who even does that?!
Now i'm laying on my bed because, 1: i'm grounded and 2: i'm mad at my parents for not believing me. Dad didn't even pay attention when I called him, he was mad at me for 'interrupting a meeting'. It was urgent!
Argggh!
If I was a violent person i'd probably punch something or even yell at them but no... i'm a dam for emotions. Bottle it up, let it out in solitude. Never let them see how mad you really are, how upset they made you. Never. Once again, I have no idea why i'm like this because i've never been betrayed or traumatised... except when I woke up late at night and my parents were getting it on.
I shook my head. Gross! No, i'm mad. I'm supposed to be mad. Shit!
If I lose focus on an emotion it usually dissipates, or rather, crawls into my emotional dam. Now i'm stuck with boredom and whatever's in my room. deciding I have nothing better to do I turn on my radio/speaker because Mum took my phone and started cleaning my room. Ghost town by Adam Lambert came on and I turned it up to spite the untrusting shits down stairs while putting clothes in the clothes basket or wardrobe. Well, actually just mum cause dad left to go back to work already, he wasn't even here for 5 minutes after the police left.
"Turn it down or i'll confiscate that as well!" I heard mum yell from my door. Not wanting to lose my only music even if it was the radio, I turned it down a little. "That's it i'm coming in!" She tried to open my door but it was locked, I win. She stopped suddenly and I heard her footsteps receding.
What's she doing...
Then it clicked as I heard her walking back up the stairs. Fuck! I quickly grabbed my small rug and dragged it over to the door and folded it over, tucking it under the door just as she started unlocking the door with a knife. There was a soft click and the door handle turned, the door swung about an arms width before it became jammed.
"Yes!" I cheered, throwing my arms up.
"Unblock the door this instant or i'll take it off!" Mum yelled at me. She pulled the door back only to thrust it inward again, thankfully, the rug held her off. "Lumai Angelo Silton! Open the god damn door!"
Oof, full name, i'm in trouble. My parents wanted me to be a boy, their 'little angel' but instead of being called Angelina I was named after luminous. Like a freaking glow stick! "It is open mum, you just can't get through." I mocked her.
"You little smart ass! Don't use that tone with me! Open the fucking door!" she all but screamed at me. That's a no, sorry not sorry, mum.
"Fuck no! Who knows what you'll do if I let you in." I said while planning an emergency escape route... window could work? I backed toward it and looked for a way down, drain pipe maybe? There's a tree not far from the roof I could jump to...
"I know what i'll do if you don't." She threatened. "Open. The. Door." She yelled while thumping on it. I turned up the new radio song, something about dancing on tables because it's Friday, I dunno. "LUMAI!"
All of mum's thumping and screaming was drowned out by the crappy pop song so I focused on getting the window open and looking for a way out. There was about a metre of roof on this part of the wall because it was above the lounge room bay window. My room was at the end of the hall facing the road, below that was the lounge room which had a seating alcove on the side. Mum made a particularly violent bang and I took it as my cue to escape.
