I sat on the swing and rocked gently back and forth. I felt disappointed and disgusted but strangely not betrayed or angry or sad. I can't believe he did that to MnM. Was he the 'intruder' from the first time, was he also doing that then. Is that why I could hear muffled cursing.

Oh man that's funny. I really yelled honey I'm home while he was busy getting it on. That poor woman –or man, both or neither, you never know– if she didn't know already she would have been real angry at that cheating scum. Ugh, I also have to find a new name for him since sperm donor is just icky now. Maybe DnD for Dad-not-Dad, also because he is playing roles that aren't real for him. I'm such a genie-ass.

I am for sure being sent away now, he can't have his secret getting out. Not like MnM would believe me anyway. If they divorce DnD will probably only loose having a free maid, they barely see each other and their marriage is probably already broken.

That's right. I'm not and won't feel guilt. He did this to himself.

"You make it sound like denial~" Inner me sung unhelpfully. I rolled my eyes in response.

A high giggle made my head snap toward the playground. A small girl with black pigtails was laughing as she ran around seeing things in her own world.

"Hurry, Glitter! We need to escape the evil fairy King! Ahh!" she yelled behind her and that's when I noticed another small girl, younger than the first and with long brown hair held back with a glittery purple headband. Sisters I bet.

"No! He's can't catch us!" Her baby talk could have been cute we're it not for the way she practically screeched that. "He comwing, les wun." 'Glitter' grabbed her sister's hand and stumble ran away, the girl with pigtails was purposefully running slow so her younger sister could keep up.

"Where should we hide?" The older one asked with mock distress. "He has eyes everywhere, the palace isn't safe. What about the forest?"

"No. Da fowest is scawy. We have to um... Make army. Yeah, the faiwies that don't like the mean king, they fwight." She sounded unsure and her sister laughed.

"This way, I know a place." she went down the slide first and caught her little sister at the bottom. They went under the equipment to the little 'cafe'. "This is were we'll find the rebels."

"What's webel?" tiny kid asked completely baffled.

"They're the people that go against evil kings and Queens but are called bad when they're not. They will fight the evil king with us." her sister made an 'ooh' noise and went back into game mode.

"You silly. You just led me to the people I need to stop. I am the evil king, I can shape shift. Now my evil fairy army will destroy you all!"

I stared dumbfounded at the girls that continued to play, there went on to be an imaginary war and the girls started arguing over who won until their dad came over. People are born to be trainers, either that or we're raised as one. Maybe it was just that girl? Surely not everyone is evil?

What a naive fool you are! Tyler ditched you, your father hit you, your mother doesn't give two shits about you. Ditch, hit, no shits. People are wicked! When will you see that?!

I sighed. I did know that, I just didn't want to believe it. Out there, somewhere, is a loyal, trustworthy person but even they will have numerous flaws. I rose from the swing and began the walk back home. A familiar sense of anxiety crept up my spine But not as intense as it would usually be, there were no intruders. Only a disloyal husband and borderline abusive father.

I paused outside the front door with my hand raised to twist the knob. I know something will happen once I pass through this threshold. Being sent away, being hit, yelled at. Who knows?
