27th of June. My birthday.

I am spending this birthday in a foster unit for the first time. This is not how I wanted to celebrate being twelve.

On the other hand, I don't want to celebrate the day the lies began. The day my destruction took its hold on the world. The day the woman who pushed my out of her decided to keep me in a world of deceit rather than a traumatic no home foster place.

This day ties me to that woman. I don't want her in my life and so I won't ever celebrate this day. That's all it is anyway, a day. If you think about it, every day is a once in a life time day. There is never a 14th of January 2015 more that once. Every day only happens once, yet the same events can occurs multiple times.

I'm so insightful.

We really are.

I was sitting on the small balcony and drawing withering vines when Ben opened the glass sliding door and managed to sit down in the left over space. Now there was barely enough room to shift.

"Hi! Mimmi didn wanna pway and eweryone else said they were too old so will you?" he rambled. I stared at him for a moment and wondered how desperate he was to ask me, then again, little kids have approached me before. It's like they don't care about whatever dark cloud makes people instantly hate me.

"Sure, what are we playing?" this was a bad idea.

"We can play tea party!" He had a look of awe and quickly jumped up. He grabbed my arm and tried to pull me up but it didn't work soi just stood on my own. "I want to green cup!"

I silently followed him to the lounge room and put my drawing book and pencil on the table. While I stood wondering why no one else was in here, Ben ran around looking for the tea set.

"Fwound it!"

I looked back to see him pulling a pink polar dot box out from the bottom of the toy box. This place didn't have many toys but sometimes when someone came they brought little donations to the place.

"Ok, you're gonna have ta teach me how to play." I said as we sat around the box. He looked shocked that I hadn't played 'tea party' before.

"What do you mean? It's easy, move back," he started instructing me, "you gotta set it up and have a tea party but we're not aloud to use water. Oh! Polly can play with us and Blue Bob and Carl." he got up and dug through the box looking for the mentioned toys, a panda, a blue bear and a ... I actually don't know what that is.

"So... Um.. Who are these .. fine fellows?" I asked awkwardly as I watches him place us all in a circle with the pink box in the middle.

"You know Polly, you saved her, this one's Blue Bob," he gestures to the blue bear, "this is Carl." he picked up the brown plastic blob and an ear fell off. "Carl does that, you just pop it back in."

"Oh.. So what is Carl?" I asked cautiously. He eyes me suspiciously and put Carl back in the circle.

"Carl is a Mr. Potato Head." he said like he was offended. "You pull his body apart and put it together differently."

The fuck are kids playing with these days?!

Don't ask me.

He opened the box and the lights died while a golden glow illuminated him. Just kidding. He swung it open and revealed tiny toy tea cups, plates and food. Actual wooden and Velcro food.

And I thought TV shows were the things degrading.

Ben poured it out unceremoniously then closed the lid again, he placed a tray on the box saying it would be the table.
